Nice outdoor seating area and decent beer. Very historic building.

Quaint and quirky hotel in the middle of lovely Southwell. Fascinating wall decorations in one of the conference rooms. Good location for exploring nearby with Southwell Minster and the Workhouse nearby.

Nice decor and historical layout. The rest was ok but I've had better elsewhere. No "wow" factor.

Just had lunch here and it was excellent, good quality and nicely presented. The staff were attentive but not overbearing and polite.

Not a bad little place to stay, lovely breakfast! Rooms are fairly outdated though, and the floorboards are extremely loud.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff were excellent and did their best to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I'd recommend to others.

Beautiful cosy atmosphere full of history and ambience.Top notch friendly helpful staff.Pleasant and comfortable decor ..facilities immaculate.Only criticism would be nice nibbles to go with beautiful bottle of red ....olives nuts even a cold cheese platter with biscuits...I would pay £11/12 for a sharing plate.My understanding is with so many hospitality outlets staffing problems...the staff are excellent here so be nice x

I celebrated my Mum's Farewell Celebration by holding her Wake here, and, thanks to Debby it was absolutely faultless. She totally assisted with all of my requests and on the day, went over and above her duties (I'm sure) in helping me with the open bar orders. The lay out lends itself to a small gathering (we were just under 25) as we could use the Restaurant for a couple of tables, as well as the Lounge, which allowed guests to mingle etc. Debby helped me the day before in arranging a small collection of photographs across the top of the grand piano, with a couple of framed photo collections and an album. A nice touch. The catering was excellent as were the bar staff. An overall, friendly, comforting way to celebrate such an event. Thank you Debby x

One of my favourite places to stay in when travelling around the UK.Full of History, comfort and character.Debbie and the staff make the place too.Always a pleasure to stay and see everyone there.It is like home from home and very proud of them all keeping going through recent hard times of the pandemic.Can't wait to stay again!Sending love to them all,Daniel aka King Charles I

Such a charming pub to spend the night. The place has character for days. One of my favorite parts of the stay was to walk through the lobby at night and listen to all of the ticking clocks. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It is true that the hotel has a few quirks. If that bothers you, go stay at a chain but you’ll miss out on a wonderful and authentic experience.
