The Lurcher in Newark and Sherwood

Good pub and friendly customers and staff.

Called in at the lurcher on Christmas eve with my son and his girlfriend. £16.30 for 1 pint cider, 1 pint lager and a gin and tonic. I'm now kicking myself for not getting a receipt. Make sure you get one and check yours. It didn't show up on my phone app statement until the 29th Dec.

Went to have a meal only to find out stopped serving food

This is a lovely pub, spacious and clean good choice of drinks

Went here after recommendation from my son! Had Sunday roast, it was superb, the Yorkshire puddings were home made. The roast beef cooked to perfection and stuffing balls to die for. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Will definatly be back xx

First visit with some friends, pleasant atmosphere and not noisy like a good many places these days. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We will be returning before long most likely to sample their menu. After that 4* may well become 5* if the catering lives up to expectations.

Nice little pub, we stopped in for a quick pint. Good selection of brews and friendly staff. Has a pool table.

We love this place! It's our local since we moved here - just a short walk from home. Such a lovely friendly atmosphere and the staff are very attentive and often very busy too! This is a proper family pub with really good menu of meals to suit everyone! Great food, cooked to perfection. We have even has a Christmas meal here! Love the chips with their skins on - makes a nice change from plain chips. Well worth a visit and the drinks aren't overpriced either.

Stopped here for a quick drink while walking the dog's. Staff we're very friendly and helpful, as for the landlord and landlady they are lovely, so friendly and welcoming. They made a fuss of the dog's and took timeout from sorting the gardens to have a chat with us. Decided that we'll have a bite to eat next time we visit. Great place.

I had a lovely meal there. My family and I have been to the Lurcher many times over the years and although it has changed ownership several times it has remained a very friendly local pub. The current chef is excellent
