The Rose Cottage in Newark and Sherwood

Beautiful meal, we booked ahead as we know this place gets busy. We love that it’s dog friendly and we had two small dogs with us. It’s very nicely decorated inside and the staff are all so friendly and efficient, the manager welcomed us, she was busy cleaning tables and answering the phone and it’s nice to see everyone chipping in to make the experience a good one. The food was amazing including the doggy menu. The portion size is generous and the quality is great, the pork roast dinner was beautifully tender and the gravy was so good I’d go back just for that. Absolutely worth the drive.

We ate at The Rose Cottage recently and the food and service were SUPERB. Nicky & her team did an amazing job looking after us. One of the nicest places we've visited in quite a while and can't wait to visit again... soon.

Excellent friendly pub and top notch dining. We chose four Sunday lunches beef, lamb & chicken five ⭐ quality. The Yorkies and roast potatoes were very tasty homemade quality all the meat delicious. Great staff attentive and would recommend. We will return very soon well done Rose Cottage

Went on a Sunday, special doggie Sunday lunch available, my other half had the salmon and said it was delicious, I had the top side of beef which was also very nice

Absolutely stunning atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door you feel so welcomed by all staff.We visited for Mother’s Day and there were 10 of us, to say how busy it was we received our meals no longer than 30 minutes which we were told would be an average wait time as all there food is cooked fresh to order (which was a big plus in our books). And when they arrived they were amazing. The puddings were done beautifully and I don’t know how we managed to finish them!The manager could not do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble, she was chatty with us all evening and had friendly banter which just topped the whole experience for us.Thank you so much to all staff you really made our Mother’s Day special it meant a lot to us as we haven’t managed to celebrate this day together since covid.

Dined out for Valentines 3 Course meal at the Rose Cottage🌹. I must say it was beautifully decorated, Currently displaying an Alice in Wonderland Theme. The service was really good and the staff are very welcoming and so nice throughout the whole night, the staff here are probably the friendliest and most helpful I ever had the privilege of meeting. The waiting times betweenThe food me and my partner had was delicious😋, compliments to the chef 👨‍🍳 👩‍🍳. Thank you for a fantastic time at The Rose Cottage 🙏❤

We finished off a great day outdoors with a very special birthday celebration with family and friends (and dog) - couldn’t fault a thing! The food, the service and of course the beautiful setting! Its been years since we last visited and can only say the place has got even more lovely!

Visited The Rose Cottage before checking in at Center Parcs and we all really enjoyed this pub. The staff were lovely, the meal was great including the treat for our dog and set us up for a great stay. Only disappointment was the pizzas were unavailable but the replacement sausage and mash was enjoyed equally as much. Superb fish finger sandwich and chips also 👍 Hope to return one day and can recommend The Rose Cottage if you're in the area. A very friendly pub serving good beer and food.

Called here after a busy day to have something to eat. Inside is styled beautifully with a lot of Alice in wonderland inspired decor. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent, cooked to order so a little wait which is expected. Pricing was reasonable. We had the Lamb shank, Belly pork with scallops and steak and Stilton pie all delicious. Would definitely return.
