The steak was tender, salad fresh and the chips were perfect. The veggie burger was a mushroom and the 'crispy fried' onions were slimy and stone cold and drinks half full. I don't usually post reviews, but when I mentioned it to the bar man face to face there was an excuse for everything. I got the impression he didn't really want to be there 🙁

Was greater by very pleasant staff, given options for menu and staff bought drinks out to us as bar was busy. Very helpful young lady who served us recommended local areas of interest. Very recommended

After an amazing hiking along River Trent I poped in here at The Royal Oak for a pint of Birra Moretti. I would like to order delicious food but didn't have too much time. Definitely will come back here for lunch... and last week came back for homemade burger and of course for a couple pints of Moretti

First time visit. Very welcoming and such a lovely little pub and a cosy corner to sit. We had fish and chips the only thing I didn't like was the chips which came already salted, I prefer t choose wether mine are salted or not other than that it was lovely. Had a lovely Sunday dinner 22 05 22 didn't like the nut roast tho, too spicey for me.

I visited this pub just for a drink yesterday 18/05/2022 with my Wife. We sat outside in the beer garden on a lovely sunny day. This is a very pleasant pub inside and out. The staff were pleasant. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food or service. We enjoyed our drinks. However, the price of our two pints of Carling Lagers (a none premium brand I believe) I found a little expensive at a total cost for the two drinks being £9.20(£4.60 per pint). I'm glad I didn't select a premium beer such as an Amstel. I know the independents can't compete with chain pubs on price and do need supporting but there has to be a balance. Needless to say I recommend the place if you can afford it but We shall not be returning until I win the lottery.

First time in this community pub and it's really good, very clean and tidy, also excellent sized beer garden too. 👌

Mixed review. Food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. Dessert disappointing. We were put on the smallest table which we couldn’t even fit our food and water jug on. Also felt very rushed. Everything was very fast like they just wanted our table didn’t feel like we could just relax and enjoy our meal.

Beautifully cooked food and just the right sized potions. Staff very friendly and professional. Thank you for a lovely valentines evening my wife and I really enjoyed ourselves.

First time visit for Sunday lunch. Beers were excellent, food was really nice. Only complaint would be that the Yorkshire puddings were like mini pancakes and noticed plates, coming out after ours, had mashed potato on! Some restaurants would have left the Yorkshire’s off rather than serve those. It still would not put me off trying again, just get some Yorkshire pudding practice.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here in the beer garden before our visit to the Japanese Garden near Newark. Very welcoming staff, very clean, good food. Will return once they can open properly indoors.
