The Tawny Owl in Newark and Sherwood

I love this place, great food , great drinks , my family loved to play the pool games and my siblings loved the machines. She was delighted to win a teddy bear. Loved all the food was 10/10. The staff were lovely and always on board. Will definitely come again soon

We like many others went for mothers day lunch at 1.15 pm. It was busy but had to wait nearly an hour for our food to arrive. In that time we were not kept upto date about the wait time and no apologies given. The standard of food was good but the price compared to other establishments I've used was quite expensive although the 2 for 1 is good

Been twice now since moving locally, excellent pub food both times at reasonable prices when you factor in the 2 for 1 deal, with good service and friendly staff. Always seems busy and has a nice atmosphere but does feel more like an eatery in pub clothes than a classic pub, at least inside - beer garden has more of a pub vibe.

Food and drink of a good standard as alwaysWelcoming and clean enviroment and family friendly, the new addition to the front of house team Sam immediately took the service here to the next level, being greeted upon entry taken to a table and having had our questions answered and checked is great. The overall experience has been positive here the last few months, service has been average that seems to have gone on an upward curve today

Great value for money food! Had the mixed grill on the 2 for 1 menu. Steak, lamb, pork chop, gammon all cooked very nicely. Steak was medium rare as requested. Lovely pitstop for food and a few drinks if you're in the Fernwood area! 👌

My partner and i have not been here for a couple of years after a bad experience but thought we would give it another try, unfortunately it has not improved if anything it has got worse. Firstly we waited over an hour after ordering only to be told there was a mix up and it would be a little longer, then when our food arrived my steak which was supposed to be medium rare was well done and my partners fish was burned the bread was stale, some of my meal just never turned up and after two hours there we just had to give up. The only saving grace for the place is the management did wave the charge for the food after admitting it was very poor and we only paid for our drinks but honestly it was just awful.

Was a little miffed that a group came into the restaurant section with some dogs, and one let the dog onto the table. I'm sorry but I don't think dogs should be allowed in the restaurant never mind on the table.The staff were great. Food was good. Just not impressed with the dogs on the next booth.

Lovely, lovely staff. Needed to be a little out of the way for adult son, who has autism and needs to feel comfortable. Our request when booking. They kindly obliged. Food great, service great, can’t fault experience. Thank you x

Overpriced small portions. Slow but friendly service. But no one asked if food was OK. The chicken in the burger was dry and looked disgusting. Salads were of poor quality. Scampi was nice but a tiny portion. Won't be back again I'm afraid.

Pleasant friendly atmosphere, currently doing table service. Missed our tartar sauce off our fish and chip orders and the fish wasn't as I'd expected. Very uniform but tasted nice. Will always return as well located
