The White Post in Newark and Sherwood

Really good carvery, offering choices for sides a lot of places don’t (dauphinois potatoes, home made cauliflower cheese etc.), but it is expensive! However, it’s 2 for 1 so worth it if your in an even numbered party. Lost a star for service, waitress was lovely but bar staff was slow and hard to track down! Also lost a star because the mens toilet looked like a dirty protest and even though staff were made aware, they didn’t clean it up!

Prices have got up... It Said it was half hour wait but waited well over an hour for 2 burgers and a kids meal.. Kids plate was the last to come out all she wanted was sausage mini waffles n beans n the plate was red hot.. I'd have give it 5 stars in the past used to love it here shame as its a lovely place x

Called in today Easter Sunday unexpectedly and was lucky to get a table even though not booked but after ordering and getting our meals can probably understand why. Six meals consisting of 2 child meals , 2 carveries which were mainly good apart from veg was cool and not hot which spoilt the meal. One meal was the cowboy burger which was very unedible as the burger was tasteless and was more burnt and the fries were cold. The only meal that was satisfactory was the Beef and Ale pie . Overall very disappointing meals

Food was great, perhaps a tad on the pricey side but if you can take advantage of the offers, it takes it down a lot. (food and drinks for 7 for less than £100). Definitely worth a visit. Booked late for a table of 7, and no delay in accommodating us when other venues would not. Service was quick and staff were polite and helpful. Overall very nice! Worth a visit!

Food was at best average and some aspects poor. Prices were higher than I would normally expect to pay. Specifically the burger option was poor: 2 thin burgers, virtually cremated, with a slice of tomato and a fraction of lettuce leaf.

Reserved a table, it was all ready for our arrival. Lovely young guy who took our drink and meal orders.Hardly any waiting time before food was being served, nice friendly girl delivered them and all 6 was cooked to perfection and on the plus side we had a voucher for 30% off, so happy days.Many thanks

second time visiting today since new management took over, very welcoming from start to finish all staff very polite and friendly.Can really see good changes being made.food was spot on everyone in our party of 8 enjoyed there meals.Big thanks to Manager Alun for making everyone feel really welcome, will definitely be visiting again soon x

I went there for a meal with my friends. The service was fantastic. The staff very attentive and helpful. The quality of the food was great and cooked to perfection. Will be definitely coming again :)

Just popped in on the off chance and manages to get a table. Really welcoming and excellent friendly service. We had the Sunday carvery and could not fault it. 3 meats and hot veg etc. Well worth a visit. Cheers guys

Me and my wife come here once a week, always get great service no matter how busy, all staff very friendly and helpful, especially the manager Alun always doing his best to find us a table, food always tasty and hot, great gluten free menu, reasonable prices with plenty of deals throughout the week and always service with a smile. Would highly recommend :)
