Greyhound in North East Derbyshire

We booked a table for 9, this was a family Easter lunch. We ordered 5 Sunday roasts, only to be told they had no vegetables, on a Sunday??.The meals came, consisting of meat,roast potatoes, carrots, and what appeared to be warmed red cabbage relish. The carrots were not even cooked, but as we had no where else to go , we put up with it. The other 4 meals were"acceptable".We then asked to see the desert menu, only to find crosses through half of them.They could have tried to put together a professional looking menu, but in all honesty, some of the staff weren't really interested, infact, a little rude and surley.We have used the greyhound a few times this year and found it pleasant and professional.Easter Sunday was a dreadful experience, it spoilt a lovely day.We complained as good British People do,with our feet.We will not be going back again.

About to walk out after standing at the bar for what seemed ages before even getting acknowledged never mind served. The other guests were equally as annoyed but not as decisive as me so we stayed for what turned out to be really expensive and very poor pub grub. Having had to grab our own menus (menus offered but not delivered) which turned out to be the wrong ones, we were given the correct ones which had a lot of dishes scribbled out in ink as they weren't available. We ordered, the side garnish, looked like it had been left withering under a hot lamp since a week last Thursday. Mash was cold and dry on the outside, again another sympton of being pre-prepared and then left out and it was all very unimpressive. £70+ later for 3 without puddings and just 2 halves plus soft drinks felt extremely expensive and poor value. My guests said they enjoyed their meals but as I paid I'm sure they were just being polite. The place looks like it's having some building work done but I didn't see any notices warning customers of a restricted menu or reduced seating, overall very disappointed. Been a few times before but this will be the last.

We came for a meal and a few drinks as it was my birthday and hoping to stay for a while. We left after our meal and only 2 drinks as the quality of food and service beggared belief. My wife's coffee was cold when it arrived straight from the machine and the staff didn't want to say anything as it was the manager that had made it. There was a replacement brought but with no sugar. Then after a long wait our order was taken for our meal and after an hour, we were still waiting for our main course when it arrived my steak was also cold and my wife had burnt black lumps in her peas. I explained this to one of the staff as we were utterly fed up by this time as none had been to our table to check it was ok and after waiting quite a while, I got up and approached one of the serving ladies to explain. The response I got was well you can pay at the bar!!!. So I did and we both left. This level of quality and service was way below what we have usually experienced here and being honest has put us off returning. The place wasn't even busy there were many empty tables and one of those waited over an hour for their desserts. Sorry but I think we will go elsewhere from now on.

The meal we had was awful, my lasagne must of done 10 rounds with a microwave, the veg was old, dry and schrivelled up god only knows what conversation the kitchen had when they were trying to revive the veg before going onto our plates, we demanded that the carrots were replaced which they were for another portion of sorry looking carrots, the contents of a care home looked more youthful than my veg. Very disappointed and we will not be eating there again ☹️

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Very dog friendly. I found it a bit expensive and the dinners could have been bigger portions. Would probably return again if in the area.

The service was friendly and quick. The food was delicious. We were a little disappointed that most of the Sunday Roasts had been sold out and there were no sweet potatoes but the rotisserie chicken was extremely tasty and moist.

We booked about a week before for a meal for two . On arrival we were shown to our table and asked for drinks . The menu was superb and food came hot and on time. Lovely food and good service to boot .

If I could give 0 starts I would. After pre ordering our food, the staff came to tell us that half the stuff we had ordered they hadn't got. Then they lied to us about deliveries (could tell) because they had gave what we wanted to other customers. After we had complained we was stood near the bar to hear the barstaff slaggung us all off right in front of us. As she didn't know we was with the party. Disgusting staff. Oh the food was only 3/10 at best aswell. We will never go back the worst meal and staff we've come across for a very long time.

Had a nice meal, I had Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings, Turkey was lovely & moist, good portions of veg, my friend had lasagne but unfortunately there wasn't enough sauce to her liking, everyone's taste is different, staff very friendly & chatty, my friend got offered her pudding free because she didnt like the lasagne, we thought that very kind, we both had the melt in middle chocolate pudding, it was huge & so soft. We stayed a while after our meal, we wasn't rushed to leave which was very nice. Nicely decorated for Christmas. We will definitely be coming back in new year. Can recommend. Thank you.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, very dog friendly inside and out. Will be back soon!
