Marsh Green Farm Shop Cafe in North East Derbyshire

We’ve shopped here for a while for fresh produce and it’s always been fantastic. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. Today we stopped for lunch for the first time and it didn’t disappoint! The menu was extensive and again the staff were so polite, welcoming and attentive. I had a Brie and Bacon salad which was huge and absolutely delicious. The ploughman’s was amazing too. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for the amazing cakes, but next time I will make sure to leave space! We will definitely be staying for lunch again.

The farm shop has a small but high quality selection of produce as well as an excellent cafe area with excellent home made pies, flans and cakes. There is a great Family atmosphere and all staff work hard to make sure your visit is enjoyable.

I'm a local resident, businessman, and well known pillar of the community. Derbyshire born, Derbyshire bred and pro local business.My partners family came to visit us for the first time since the pandemic.I decided to hold a LGBTQ+ family event at the farm shop, as I thought it would be perfect to welcome a relative who has changed gender.An idyllic family celebration turned into an experience from hell by the team at Marsh Green Farm shop.I ordered fluffy cappuccinos and an array of cakes. I paid the bill in full, which totalled a significant amount of money for their business.The family and I sat at the table, awaiting our afternoon tea.The team completely forgot about us for over 1 hour. Our patience stated to wear thin, so my partner and I politely prompted the order...20 minutes later, we were still waiting!An abnoxious gentlemen with dark hair and a black shirt shouted it's on its way. The family noticed that we were being talked about by the team.I asked for refund. I was told to have a seat and they will process it. No apology was given. The guy was incredibly rude to my gender neutral relative making a comment about their pearl necklace, stating he liked it in a sarcastic tone. All of my friends and family around Matlock have boycotted this business permanently.I know many local business onwers around Chesterfield and I've discovered that Marsh Green Farm Shop buys their cakes in from peakfeast.co.uk. You should buy them directly from Peak Feast and make nice coffees at home. This team do not deserve a business when they ruin a special day for a local family.

Friendly and accommodating staff, one let down for me (although it will not affect the majority) was the lack of vegan cakes. Although at least it stops me being tempted.

Extremely disappointed . Travelled here because the photos and reviews looked really good. It's quite small inside and hopefully they had a busy weekend as the butcher counter was almost empty. The photos on the site show different to what we saw.

Called today for a morning snack having seen a dog photo in the photos on here 😊 arrived to a sign saying No dogs👎but as we went to leave a nice chap in a cleaner van says I think u can take in dogs ?so go to the CAFE and yes doggies allowed,now that is sorted better signage please,,,,, lovely cafe nice food and pie's for sale and really friendly staff 5stars except for the signage ,👍👍👍👍👍

Went here for some lunch all I can say it's a must if you are passing the food was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and you get great coffee. Deserts are mouth watering delicious. Will we be back try stopping us.

Visit here regularly at least twice a week always get a lovely greeting great food and goodies from the shop. It is getting very popular at main meal times most days, bookings taken so maybe a thought before you go. Indoor and outdoor eating areas, dog friendly.

Went for lunch here with my daughter and grandson. The food was delicious and plentiful, the premises were clean and well laid out and the staff were really helpful and friendly. There's plenty of choice, and they cater for gluten free and vegetarian diets. I'm a gluten free pescatarian and there were several options for me to pick from. There's level access, with seating inside and outside. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

The staff are lovely and the menu to die for. We went four times over the course of a week and were always delighted with the quality of the cooking. Clearly a farm cafe where both food and presentation were a notch or three above the norm. Great coffee as well!
