What a find, super friendly staff with welcoming and warm hospitality. Excellent quality room with no expensive spared. Shall certainly return

Have no idea on the food, but when we arrived there was a huge queue with a waiting time of 1hr 20mins. When we were put off by this info, the waiter retorted with "Well you won't find anywhere else open so..." - unlucky for him, we did find somewhere else open, it was delicious, and we will leave future visits to the Peacock to other patrons.

Great food and service, but far too many dogs barking at each other while I was there. An example was one party bringing 3 large dogs with them and was not my preference to share my space with. I hadn't read reviews previously, but due to this and my asthma allergies unfortunately I will not be returning.

Great food, atmosphere and staff. Only issue is it's a bit crowded which isn't ideal with the pandemic. But that could also be considered a good thing depending on how you look at it.

One of the best burgers that I have ever had. Great food at good prices in a lovely setting. Good choice of drink and good service.

We booked the 2 bed 2 bath Barley Cottage for a few days. Cottage was well-equipped if you wanted to self-cater. Wifi in the cottage was very slow. The 1st night was rather cold as we could not get the heating to work efficiently. Staff were happy to adjust the heating the next day which helped. The ensuite bathroom was very cold & we did not use it even when the heating had been adjusted, as the heater in there is not working properly - that was a shame as I would have liked a bath! I noted a few small maintenance issues in the cottage. We had quite a few meals in the pub. Food was generally good & service was friendly (despite a few miscommunications - especially at breakfast). We recommend The Peacock & would return.

Bloody marvellous!Super efficient, friendly staff throughout with top eats. Pork confit was simply delicious. The sticky Toffee cake was out of this world. (Sorry for the empty plate but it simply didn’t last long enough to picture)Highly recommended.

First time visitor for breakfast. Absolutely beautiful! Spacious dining area surrounded by beautiful views. Generous portion size with food cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Clean and tidy. Toilets were fresh and modern even though the tap/hand dryer was too technical for me and made me jump. Will definitely be returning to try the dinner menu!

Visited last Friday for lunch with friends. No booking allowed for parties under11 so it was potluck for our band of 8. Managed to get a table though and were seated immediately.Menus were given and instructions on ordering were on the table were clear. There's even pen and pad to write your choices which makes life easier at the ordering station. The menu was good and caters for every taste. The only problem is that descriptions of the choices was in a very pale colour and small font, a bit hard to read if you have poor eyesight. The food was delicious and service was swift and courteous. Portions are generous and the vegetables are fresh. On payment time we were able to pay individually which was great. We are planning to return soon but it would be great if we could book in advance as it is not local to us.

When I got there parking wasn’t an issue as the car park was large and very space full between cars. When entering an outstanding lobby is there leading down to the main restaurant. The food even though quite pricey is absolutely lovely. The chips and steak are very fresh and cooked to a high standard. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. Having a pet friendly policy really helps locals with dogs and is a jolly atmosphere keep it up.
