We had our wedding here in April 2022. This place is simply fantastic. A lovely setting, beautiful views and a stones throw from walks in the peaks. The owner (Craig), what’s great guy, he could not do enough, so helpful, accommodating and professional throughout which also filtered down through his staff. The arrangements for the day, on the day and afterwards were all so well cared for. We had a few meals here leading up to the wedding which were always brilliant however they really pulled all the stops out on the big day, the meals were timely, very well presented, tasty and very filling! We could not have had a better day in any way, it was simply perfect. I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for everyone involved at F&G, we would not have had such an amazing experience.

We attended a wedding here, which was brilliant. Well organised and efficient friendly team of staff.

Nice setting. Food just average. Starters very plain a nice side salad would make all the difference instead of one lettuce leaf. Main course was ok as was the pudding but nothing special. For the price wouldn't rush back .

We were there on Thursday 2nd June and it was pretty quiet in the restaurant. The food is okay, nothing particularly special from quite a basic menu, but okay. The pub part is lovely, a traditional old country pub.

We've had several visits here over the years and have always been highly pleased. Yesterday l took a 92yr old friend for lunch. The service was prompt and the lady on duty couldn't have been more helpful. The food was tasty and met my diet needs perfectly. There was so much that l had to take the surplus home.So pleased they have survived the pandemic restrictions.

Visited to see the wedding exhibition. The room upstairs is perfect for what we required. We visited the bar for coffee but it was very busy and there were no seats so we decided to leave. We used the ladies toilet downstairs which wouldn't flush, but I'm sure this would be fixed soon as the standard of this place is very good.

Delicious hearty pub grub every visit. Special mention to front of house manager Lynn, who steers a very tight ship. We particularly like the free minibus service (for dining parties of six or more) as no-one draws the nominated driver short-straw! Beware the dinner-plate sized Yorkshire puds on Sundays!

Totally impressed by this lovely pub set in picturesque surroundings. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us, as they were just about to stop serving food, due to a wedding function. Delicious food, worth every penny. Amazing service by friendly professional staff. Highly recommended. Absolute gem.
