Wild Boar Restaurant at Sitwell Arms Hotel in North East Derbyshire

Stayed for a family gathering close by. Pleasant staff, handy parking which is always a bonus. Nice breakfast, all in all an enjoyable stay, would have no hesitation to go back if needed.

My partner booked me this experience which was suppose to be relaxing afternoon tea for two at the sitwell arms hotel in reninshaw however what you told us we was getting and what we got was two differnet things, the afternoon tea was awful the clotted cream was still frozen yes literally frozen and nothing was handmade it was all brought in. The hotel was nothing like described we had afternoon tea in the bar area because the reastuarnt was closed. We had our evening meal in the bar area and wished we hadnt, my partner ordered the mixed grill which was average, the chicken was dry and the black pudding was nasty but the meal was still edible, i ordered the 4 cheese tortellini in a medetranian vegetable sauce with balasmic vinegar, well if i wanted a microwavable meal i sure got one, no joke it was actually microwaved, no one came over to check if our meal was ok ee were left to our own devices, which is not what you expect in a "reastuarant" because thats what its advertised as the wild boar reastuarnt, When we tried to complain we was told by the waitress jo theres no point because the manager isnt interested we dont go to her, the staff sort the problems themselves.Although the weekend we booked we was aware there was a wedding none of the staff, the very little there were couldnt make sure the wedding was all ok and the other guests were happpy. The onsite restaurant is permenantly closed so the staff said when questioned why we couldn't have afternoon tea in there. This.place is so run down and needs a lot of work. The picturesque view was a garage and a car park.The only good points were the lady on reception was lovely and the room.itself is spotless so 10/10 for this.We have now logged a formal complaint with red letter days as we were left so dissapointed. Its safe to say we will not return and we wouldnt recommend to anyone. Its such a shame because this place could be stunning inside.This experience wqs £99 when he originally booked and it definetly not worth that kind of money. We recently got married here and words can't describe how amazing the venue and staff are. Throughout the whole process nothing was too much trouble and our day was something we won't ever forget not only because we got to spend time with our friends and family but because everyone at the Sitwell went above and beyond and for that we are truly grateful

Love this place! We got married here July 2021. The food, staff and place itself are 5 stars and its always a pleasure to go. We love it 😊 The grounds are amazing with beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel.

Vegans beware, there is nothing for you here...Went with family for a Sunday meal. There was only one vegetarian option and nothing for a vegan. The food and service were good but the menu needs to join the 21st century! What with that and the carpet I thought I had time travelled to 1988. And also the printed menu has several errors which doesn’t give a very professional impression.

I would have given 5 stars if there had been more than 1 vegetarian option (and no vegan at all!)Won't be going back until the menu changes.The staff and meals were very good, just a shame about the menu.

I had 2 nights here and it was great. The staff are fantastic and in particular the man on evening reception. He helped me out a lot which really calmed my anxiety. The room was clean and spacious and i had everything I needed Well worth the money and the food was fantastic and well worth the price. Sitwell arms you get a 10 from me.

Our grandchildren arranged a party to celebrate "Grandad's" 90th birthday which is tomorrow. Around 20 family and friends gathered for a three course meal at The Sitwell Arms hotel.The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was , too much trouble,and the meals were appetising and served hot. A lovely experience. Thank you all !!

My sons wedding was fabulous great food great staffHad the wedding at the venue tooVery well organisedIn was in November a bit cold for out door photos but didn't dampen the day

A Sad occasion was the reason we visited the Sitwell Arms,The staff were very friendly helpful polite and professional.The buffet was lovely.The ladies toilets were clean and tidy.Hand sanitizer available at different areas of the bar and entry into the bar, toilets etc.
