Cheap and cheerful. No it's not the highest quality home cooked food, not at those prices! But never a bad meal, portions are very generous, service is commendable and super efficient, and great prices to boot. We have found this to be one of our favourite places to eat over the last couple of years.

Very poor customer service food wasn’t the best and also had trouble with a machine and the guy behind the bar just came and switched the machine off even though it was on feature so now got to wait for the engineer to come and look at it before it pays out. The manager wasn’t helpful at all. We are a family of 12 and spent a lot of money on here and we won’t be returning again as it’s one of the worst pubs we have been in 😡😡

Visited for the first time in nearly 2 and a half years.First the positives, they are one of a dwindling number of establishments that actually cater for young families with a very large outdoor area and a play area and adventure frame and slides to encourage some play. (it does need a lick of paint though...)The drinks were brought to the table without much delay. (minus the cups of tea...)The staff were nice and friendly. We visited at 11 and were told that they were still serving breakfast and we could only choose from the breakfast menu, which was fine, there were 9 of us in total. We made our choices and went up to the bar to order the meals. Where we were told that they had no beans and no tea. They were happy to substitute the beans for an extra egg...Fair enough, maybe they had a rush on in the morning... We were a bit confused as to how management were not well stocked with these staple ingredients with their apparent long shelf life and given the fact that a bank holiday weekend was upon us...But we made the changes and awaited the food, I sat outside watching my daughter in the glorious sunshine and enjoyed the ample facilities they have outside. When the food arrived, there were some issues. The eggs tasted like cabbage? The mushrooms were very sorry looking and were obviously from a tin, and the steak that my son ordered was cooked medium rare (as requested) but it too had a strange taste to it, much like the eggs.I don't know if this is a result of the dishwashers used, rinsing of cooking stations or utensils etc... But with the whole experience was off putting and we just wanted to leave.Maybe they are short staffed, maybe they had a rush, I don't know the reasons for it but we have eaten in many "Hungry Horse" establishments in the past (with a young family) and this is way below the normal standards we have experienced elsewhere. We would love to come try again at a different time of day during the summer in the hope that it was a one off.

Went here for the play pit aspect for two boys. Ball bit and slide closed despite not been told and paying full entry. 15 minutes for 2 teabags and cups of hot water. Simply the most tasteless fatty bit of steak I have ever had, partners meal was completely thee wrong meal, club sandwich was just an unseasoned chicken breast in the middle of a wrap.Kids chicken nuggets were OK..... hard to go wrong. Chicken wings were over cooked and practically indelible. And the kids chicken strips were the same.Location was clean enough, despite 1 poor young girl working the kids area, serving, taking orders and cleaning the tables by herself.... she really struggled. Not a fan of the new menu at all. Unfortunately I won't be back, which is a shame.

Been here for breakfast and it was great. Having said that I went with a party of 12 for my 10 year old daughters birthday on the 29/12/21 and the food was extremely disappointing. 7 of the 12 complained and got refunds. The chicken on the mixed grill was slimy and the steak tasted like sweaty socks.

Absolutely amazing staff. Friendly, polite and up for a bloody good giggle ! Highly recommend

Went there Christmas Eve with my family, the dinner was great and it was a large portion which you don't see that often anymore. The beer was good and the staff were friendly and helpful, I definitely would recommend going there for a meal.

Went for meal out with partner and kids and the food was absolutely terrible. Chicken was all soft and slimey tomato tasted like washing up liquid. The half a slice of bacon looks like it had just come from the pig was not cooked at all. Then the coke was like it had bein left on the side all night and took a sip in the morning flat as anything. Not 1 bubble of fizz in it. Will definitely not be going back for food here. So disappointing. Only good thing was the kids play area 1* would be 0 if I could give it 0. Not good at all.

The best overall place to go if you have kids in the area, the facilities are great to keep the hole family entertained for hours. It has a fantastic outside park and seating area, also a wacky ware house indoors. The restaurant is well spread out with ample amount of seating for large numbers of people. The staff are amazing and appreciate your custom even with a gang of kids, unlike some places that make you feel uncomfortable with noisy hyped up kids. For a family orientated restaurant the food is excellent, and great value for money. The menu is diverse for all fussy kids needs, but also good enough quality for the adults to enjoy. With it being on the A46 it’s a great location for families in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, there is ample parking and plenty of family parking bays.
