This was a surprising delicious meal we had while on holiday along the Yorkshire coast. My first thought was that the name ‘Restaurant 20’ was pretentious, but the dining experience was the opposite- a candlelit living room turned dining room. This was a perfect cozy meal between friends.Our bill was about £63 per person with drinks.The menu was short and meat heavy, but everything was delicious. We had grilled sea bass and a small steak, both excellent. Starters of beef salami and mozzarella and one of the stars dishes was the Light and delicate panacotta, yum.Sue was a wonderful host and offered us tips on where to find local produce and fish.

Absolutely superb meal last night. From the moment we walked through the door the evening was spot on. We were made to feel incredibly welcome. Excellent wine list to choose from, menu changes frequently and what was on offer was absolutely stunning quality ingredients cooked and presented perfectly. Cannot recommend this place enough! So worth the trip.

Fantastic! We booked for a friends 75th birthday and the evening was wonderful. The interior was cosy with 2 lovely fires and excellent art work on the walls. The food was the best I've had in this area for some time. There were four choices of starter/main and dessert. The variety was excellent and we were all catered for. I had halibut and it was delicious - so fresh!The staff couldn't do enough for us but weren't fussy or over attentive. They even organised a taxi to get us home at the end of the evening.This restaurant is in the Good Food Guide and deserves to be there 100%. If you are in the area and like good food then pay this place a visit.

Recently opened by the family that used to run the Fox and Hounds at Goldsbrough and if you knew them there rest assured the food is just as good here. It is a small cosy restaurant with an open kitchen, a small food menu of about four choices on each course and a reasonable drinks menu.The food is more about simple ingredients matched and cooked with great skill rather than complex showy dishes. This restaurant is already in the top 3 of the area for me, very much worth the visit if you get the chance.

A little hidden gem. Fantastic food quality, lovely personable service with a smile and a lovely relaxed vibe. The quality of the food is amazing and a must try.
