Royal Oak Pub in North Kesteven

Very nice pub and popular at weekends serving lovely food served by friendly staff. During busy times it can take time between courses and paying as the staff get around everyone, so give youselves some time to chat as you wait.

Family meal tonight to celebrate 2 birthdays. Friendly staff, delicious food in relaxing surroundings. First visit, definitely won't be our last. Thank you for a thoroughly lovely evening

Surroundings lovely, staff polite and service good. Food prepared by chef. Menu has good choices, however I feel it is overpriced for what you get, the cost does not reflect the plate presented in my opinion.

We shared the Cheesy Tacos as a starter then I had the Fish & Chips and my wife had the Royal Oak Club sandwich.Tacos were some of the best we'd had, nice and cheesy but with taste too.Club sandwich had vege crips and a mini side salad WITH dressing (most appreciated) and was fantastic. Far too much, we took half the sandwich home. The server wrapped it in foil for us, so helpful.Fish & Chips were superb; it's my benchmark meal so I was delighted at the beer batter, very light yet tasty. Fish was juicy and tasty too. Mushy peas were tasty and not bright green! Chips were chunky and excellently cooked.Sad to say we've been in Great Hale for a whole year now and have only just "discovered" The Royal Oak even though it's opposite the Co-op in Heckington which we've visited many times.We most certainly will be back, perhaps using the main restaurant next time if it's a more 'formal' occasion (but I liked the laid back atmosphere of the bar).I've got to say all the staff were friendly, approachable and asked on two occasions if our meal was alright. Alright? Fantastic!

Popped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. An extensive menu caters for all appetites whether big or small. A lovely atmosphere with tables inside or out available. Very friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Will definitely be visiting again soon

Friendly service. Food plentiful and delicious especially the garlic coleslaw my husband had with his burger. Luckily he didn't want it all! I had three slices of ham and two eggs with good chunky chips. All excellent. We had our two dogs with us and they were allowed in the garden with us. A small neat space with swings and a slide for small children. We haven't eaten the brownies that I brought home, still too full but I expect them to taste as good as they look.

If you are looking for a fantastic pie then look no further than The Royal Oak, 1 Boston Road, Heckington, NG34 9JD. The pastry is absolutely delicious and worth travelling for. A very nice, child-friendly garden. Very professional and friendly staff. Good service and good value for money. Thank you to everyone concerned.

We booked for a family party for lunch today (15 of us) and it was excellent. The food was great, the service was brilliant, nothing too much trouble, and everyone enjoyed it. Many thanks, will definitely be back.

Brilliant service really tasty food, nicely presented and nice relaxing place to eat or just sit back and have a few drinks. The staff are so nice and really make you feel welcome.

Food was really tasty, prices reasonable & the staff friendly. The pub was very busy but the layout allows for smaller dining areas but which are still open to the rest of the premises so you don't feel enclosed.
