Best steak and ale pie. Plus potatoes and 3 veg. Liked having a full gravy boat each. Totally full - needed to use doggy bag. Only lost a star as took a while to arrive due to other pre- bookings.

Went for carvery on Sunday,beef so tough could,nt cut with knife never mind chew it.Pork nice but loads of fat.Booked table but squashed in corner area.When meal collected had to walk back through crowd at bar. Waitress asked if everthing ok said not really, oh! SORRY ABOUT THAT! That was that😡

We arrived 15 minutes before our booking to be told that the person we made the reservation with didn't add us to the list. We were out into a cold room with no service away from everyone else.The staff were extremely rude when taking our orders, and when the food arrived it was cold.Very disappointed as we have been here many times with a nice experience.

Terrible food. Old salad with black bits. Dry cucumber, chicken was burnt and really hard to take apart. Fish was covered in very oily batter. Waiter seemed very rude. Will not be attending again.

Thankyou for yesterday and foraccommodating the wake after a funeral. After the Homestead had let us down big style.You and your staff were amazing and very much appreciated. This was the 2nd time this week you had done this at short notice.

Nice carvery, relatively quick service. Just a little busy at be the start of the sitting. Need to time when they allow you to get your carvery if someone in your group ordered off the menu. But other than that it was great.

Wife ordered surf n turf, steak medium, I ordered 8oz gammon, steak was rare, Wife tried to eat it but couldn't, my food came was 16oz gammon !!! Wife mentioned to waitress about steak, she offered to heat it up and said we could take it home!!! Then Daughter ordered dessert, chocolate fudge cake, very chewy and dry, maybe done too long in microwave 🤔🤔. Be a wee while before we go back I'm thinking. Waitress seemed she couldn't care less.

This is a very pleasant pub/ restaurant with good parking adjacent. It does a brisk business but, during the week at least, does not seem to get too crowded. Its family friendly, very clean and the staff are pleasant and friendly. The menu is fairly varied and there is definitely scope for vegetarians if not vegans. The food is fresh, nicely presented and tasty. It's an excellent place for a pleasant meal out away from the city.

Covid safe throughout, friendly staff, excellent quality food at affordable prices
