One of our favourite local chip shops based on their food. Fish is always nice, not too fishy tasting (if that makes sense!). Great chips.Staff are really nice too, although we have noticed from reviews that there's been a recent management change. Hopefully this won't affect our future experiences going forward.

Food arrived promptly and a mistake was quickly rectified. Thank you for that. Kebab was very good and so was the fish. The rest of the food was nice, though the salad was a little small. Thanks again for good customer service!

BE CAREFUL, I paid with contactless tonight and the man serving me tried to make out it failed as he ripped up the receipt before showing me, I asked him to show me the receipt, which he then said he was joking and it went through. Definitely dodgy people here. I would advise you to go else where.

Usual chip shop offerings plus kebabs. Service was slow on the midweek visit we paid to this chippy. Chips were fresh and tasty. Chicken kebab was very salty. One or parking slots outside if you're lucky. Difficult to recommend.

Avoid this so called fish and chip shop…. Under new management and what used to be a good fish and chip shop is a joke, the food and customer service is an absolute disgrace.I waited for 20 mins for a fresh cod and chips sausage and chips and pies. Tried to speak to the staff like I used to with the previous lady but they don’t have basic customer service skills and struggle to understand English … Anyway I get home to find out they have forgot to pack the sausage and chips. Called the shop and they could not even understand what I meant, and then said that I didn’t order it even though the order was nearly £20. What a joke!I Then tried the fish and as you can see it was inedible, all hard and over cooked whilst the chips were undercooked greasy and disgusting.Been going here for over 10 years and the previous owners were always spot on.. great food and customer service was great. This new management have no clue about fish and chips or customer service. Will never go here again and would advise all to avoid!!

Have to ask, but is this F&C shop under new management , cos what I've just experienced was Shocking!!!Sad thing is I watched them freshly cook the fish and chips , so god only knows why the batter was hard & tough , hardly any fish inside it , the chips were hard on the outside ! Think it mustve been the oil and maybe it needed changing ? The Mushy peas were , I can only describe them as illuminous sea green NOT even a bright normal Mushy green colour , so they were opened , laughed at and then thrown in the bin !! £12 for 2× Cod & chips & totally a waste of money !!!

When I went there earlier today, I got my food within a few minutes, the staff were nice, and the fish, sausages, and chips all tasted great. I definitely recommend going there.

A farmers field of potatoes must have gone into our order, the chip portion was Huge, freshly cooked and very tasty! The fish were both really tasty, well cooked and large.A nice touch was the tv montage of ‘epic fails’ being run whilst we were collecting, I particularly liked the clip of the dog cleaning out the guy on the sledge! Hilarious!Anyway back to the chippy, if your name is Nemo, then avoid this place, because these chaps will batter you like you won’t believe! More chips than a vegas gambling den!Get yourselves down to Ellistown Chippy for a feed fit for a fat lad (or lass) following a hunger strike. Delicious! And tell them ‘The Alderman’ sent you. Anyway, time to go, the midwife has arrived, there’s a food baby on the way and Ellistown chippy is the baby father (push!)Seriously, it’s a good chippy 👍🏻

The past two weeks our office has decided to have a chippy lunch. The guys were very accommodating, they let me message my order in. They gave me the prices and the time to collect. It was excellent service all the way through. The food was hot and delicious. The portion sizes are very generous too. Thanks guys
