Hungry Horse - The Tall Chimney in North West Leicestershire

Came for food with family and it was our first time visiting from leicester, the staff was all very friendly and pub is very inviting. And was lovely to see the a manager engaging with customers. Lovely environment.

Had a lovely meal on Friday afternoon. Nice and quiet in there too which was great! Service and food was very good also! Katie R at the bar was very helpful especially in making me aware of the gluten free options and even took the time to come and check how my food was. Definitely eat here again.

We for breakfast and was very impressed fast service and staff was very polite and welcoming. Food was excellent.we will definitely returner.

We went on Sunday at about 2pm. We opted for 2 roast beef dinners for £12.49 - so seemed good value. It wasn't very busy so we couldn't understand why we had to wait nearly half an hour for our meals. The portion size was good but unfortunately my husband's beef was mostly gristle and he was unable to cut it, never mind eat it. I waited for the waitress to check back to us to ask for the beef to be replaced, but no-one came, so I had to go to the bar. Give the staff their due, they did offer to change the whole meal, but as we'd waited ages for the neal to come in the first place, I asked whether they could just bring out some more beef. The lady behind the bar offered to bring a chicken breast as well "just in case" but she didn't come to our table to see how much beef was being replaced. She brought a small slice of beef and a small chicken breast within a short amount of time. The beef was a lot better but there wasn't much of it. The texture of the chicken breast was weird - quite rubbery - so my husband chose not to eat it. All in all, we were very disappointed and will be very reluctant to return.

Went in for a light breakfast before shopping. We had a bacon butty with three rashers of back bacon. Toast and either orange or lemon marmalade and lattes. Service was really fast, we'd not even finished stirring the lattes and the food arrived. Price was just over £7, so more than happy.

I have visited this pub twice now. Once back in November & Tonight (currently sat in Restaurant) . On both visits, the food I ordered was not available, a simple Chicken Tikka Masala. Why advertise it as an option if you clearly don't sell it? It can't be pure luck that the same item isn't available both times I've visited?

Staff were very welcoming and friendly.Food how ever was over cooked and dry.Pudding was good though.Drinks are cheap and disco was a good extra to the night. All in all a good night out just a shame about food

Absolutely amazing, the food was way above par, Katie.R was our waitress and her service was absolutely amazing! Treated the family really well, overall an amazing experience!

Only ever come in here for breakfast, but great big plate all day breakfast that's a bargain. Arrived quickly. With the changes we asked for too. Always looks clean when we come in and friendly helpful staff.Wouldn't recommend the large Cumberland though. It's way too much. The photo is what I couldn't eat, and I ate a fair chunk of it! Waste really.

Sign said to wait to be seated, 3 staff walked by with no greeting or acknowledgement. Found a table ourselves that didn't have reserved on it, ordered our food only to be told later on rudely to move since this table is reserved. Cutlery was brought over in someone's pocket and was dirty. It has not improved over the years
