Glad to see the Belper Arms is now open again after being shut for so long. We went out for a lovely impromptu meal last night with our puppy and can honestly say we have never been made to feel so welcome in ANY pub or restaurant anywhere! We ended up chatting away with the landlords, locals and visitors as though we had known them for years - but were also able to have a lovely meal together in our own space. The new landlords have managed to create a very warm, caring atmosphere. If you haven’t been since it’s reopened then pop in - you won’t be disappointed!

Great to have new landlords in - more friendly than ever before and the dogs were just as happy with the welcome! Look forward to making it a regular again

Just editing this review that was done 5 months ago as it was terrible. However visited last night and the new owners I'm glad to say have turned it around. The service was absolutely spot on, food was good value and tasty pub grub. Glad to say they've smartened the entrance way up and it's back to being a good local little pub that does decent food and drink. We'll done guys 👍🏼

This pub reopened only a week ago with new landlord and staff, and tonight was our first visit there for three years or more. My wife and I had drinks and a meal and I am so happy to report that the place is back to its old self from years ago: nice service, nice food, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced in a charming country pub. The new people are getting things right; so much better than it had been in recent years. We will definitely be back.

New landlord and family came last week and what a difference. Know what they're doing, friendly, interested in people inc locals, fab food all home cooked. At long last!!

Love the fact that the owner puts "fake review", definitely not fake. Place went to pots, hence the reason why they have closed down. Terrible service, management should listen to customers not ridicule them! One star now (as I cannot give them 0 stars)Second time I have been to the belper, first visit was brilliant. Second visit not very good at all. Service was extremely slow, food portions were very small but expensive. I don't think I will be going back, I can spend a lot less at other pubs / restaurants and get better food. I even sent them a comment on social media and they can't be bothered to reply. Pity as it is a lovely pub

We dined there 2 nights ago. Yes our plates were empty by the end of our meal. The menu was not expensive but that's as good as it gets. We were all very hungry having waited all day to eat, that's why we ate what was in front of us. The service lacked lustre and smiles. The food was well below average. The beef burgers looked amazing but the buns quickly disintegrated quickly due to the oil and moisture content of the meat. I had steak pie. 3 medium size lumps of dry meat in a leathery casing.Drinks wise, have to say the Guinness was very nice.
