The Castle Inn in North West Leicestershire

We recently had a short term stay in Castle Donington and this pub was a short walk away. What a place ! the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was always good whatever time of day and the entertainment was great fun. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed the few times Ive been to lunch there on the weekend. They only do pizzas before 4, however the pizzas are great value and are proper stone baked pizzas. Had a hoisin duck pizza and it was awesome!

Great place.great prices even greater staff and a pizza to write home about. Will be frequenting again real soon. Even though download fest is a Yr away.

Good range of beers but not the place to go to eat if you don't like pizza.

What a great find. We felt so at home at The Castle Inn. Great service, great atmosphere and delicious food. On arrival the team told us there was a wait for food which was great for managing our expectations. We stayed and the atmosphere was so good it didn't seem too long a wait. Food was delicious. The pizza was cooked in a special pizza oven and the portions were generous. The manager and hosts came up for general chit chat which made us feel even more welcome. They had a live bad which was great.Thanks so much. We will definitely be back again.

We had a relaxed afternoon wedding reception in the garden room before a larger evening party. Absolutely fantastic day and great service. All the staff are so kind. All our guests had a great time. Pizzas went down a treat. Made our day to have a nice setting to share some quality time with our guests. Highly recommended.

A great find! We were looking for somewhere different for Sunday lunch and so glad we found this pub. Lovely surroundings, nice choice on the menu (not just Sunday roast) and a good selection of drinks. We were really impressed with the great service and the food was really tasty. Good local pub and a refreshing change from the usual. Will definitely be back!

If you're after a few drinks, avoid. A group of mature and professional adults attempted to call in on Saturday evening at about 21:30 just for one last pint before getting the bus home, however we were turned away as there were no tables. Front of house staff member was courteous and polite (as were we), but it's gone from being the last pitstop pub we could have a drink in to being a closed door, bookings-only restaurant-cum-pub. Shame as it has some excellent ales on and a nice wrap-around bar. Tried a few times, but will skip this in the future and just go to the excellent Cross Keys!

Great staff. Currently doing an efficient table service to a spread-out pub of many cosy areas. Recently added a nice covered courtyard with its own bar. Choice of two or three hand-pulled ales plus the normal fayre.

Food was really good and staff very friendly even though (due to car issues) we arrived late. Awesome little place and even better that they have gluten free options 💯
