The Priest House in North West Leicestershire

Arrived early and was greeted by a quite standoffish female member of staff who barked "check-in is 3pm", I merely wanted to ask about parking!! Ate our packed lunch in the car and wandered in at 3pm, same woman checked us in, again rather rudely shoving a piece of paper towards me to complete car registration and sign it, when I asked for a pen she rudely pointed "there!". The room itself was tired looking, no air-con and the toiletries wouldn't be enough for a child! The only member of staff who showed any form of customer service was a young lady called Abigail who was working behind the bar, very pleasant young lady. Breakfast on the first day was adequate but the 2nd day we weren't offered any toast, we decided it would be too much trouble to chase after staff who always seemed to be hiding in the kitchen! Would not stay here again.

Would have given zero stars if I could! Living off past success. Rooms dark and tired. Fan in bathroom not working, shower gel enough for 1 shower, wallpaper pealing off walls, curtains stained with dead flies, tv shows 15 channels. 5 channels work, 8 channels all show Yesterday TV others not working. Subtitles not working, something in these days of equal rights is not on for the deaf and hard of hearing. Unable to open windows so room very hot. Reception hardly manned. Staff overwhelmed and just not enough of them. Rooms need to be gutted and modernised. Bathroom should at a minimum have a working extractor fan. Enough gel for shower, hair and hand wash. Wallpaper should be on the wall. TV needs to be retuned (something that would take moments or unlock the remote and let us do it) signal would disappear at 9:20 pm each day, why? First morning we were offered toast, second day nothing! Was shocked when told the evening meal (part of the booking deal) was only up to the cost of £25. So could only have a main without drinks. Only person who gave a damn and seemed to understand what customer care was about was Abigail. She was possibly the youngest person working there apart from the poor cleaner. I would never return to this place and unless you are staying over and your firm is paying for it I wouldn't recommend you do. Living off weddings and nothing else going for it. A waste of money and two nights. Just doesn't meet the minimum requirements for today.

Very tired 90’s decorating, poorly dressed, overworked staff who seemed rushed off their feet. I attended a wedding here today and was not impressed. Your hearded like sheepFrom one room to another, and no one tells you what’s happening. We had the choice of three vegetarian meals, yet on the Day me and my friend were offered the one meal neither of us chose and were told there was no option. My friend enjoyed her soup, and yet on asking for another, was told it wasn’t possible as it had gone back in the tin. We also asked for coke to be brought to the table, after 15 minutes wait, I had to go downstairs to the bar and get it myself as clearly they had forgotten. I was served the coke, with no apology whatsoever. My friend wanted a coffee that never arrived, and ended up getting it herself.It’s a terrific location, let down by poor management, overworked poorly dressed staff, and tired 90’s decor. Avoid unless they close it and spend some serious money on the building and staff training, and they find a new chef who appreciates that not everyone wants to eat dead animals.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a download RIP package. The hotel is beautiful, however, there were a few issues. The door to our cottage we stayed in didn't have a door that worked properly so we kept getting locked out by the other guests, my partner has a disability and he had to wait outside whilst I ran to reception to get the door open. There is no clear disabled parking available. The staff were friendly enough and helpful but for what we paid for the hotel, we're not happy.

What a lovely place in a stunning location. Staff were very nice and pleasantly courteous. Food arrived quickly and was very nice. It was a dull day when I visited but on a nice day it would be a really nice place to spend some time at. 👍

Thank you for making being gluten free not a problem. I may have only had a sandwich but the bread was good and plenty of filling. Beautiful setting, will definitely return in the better weather.

The staff here were fantastic and really went the extra mile with everything I asked as it was a special occasion. The room wasn't up to standard as it was looking quite tired and in need of updating especially as it was one of the suites, also quite a few stains on furniture.

Can't believe this hotel passes as a hotel it is far more a retreat! We only stayed 1 night as we were flying from EMA early the following morning, I felt like I'd stopped in a spa, the location is stunning the building is beautiful the lady on reception was really lovely, so welcoming and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bath oh my word incredible with little luxuries that quite literally smelt divine! Will definitely park and stay at this hotel again next time we fly.

Lovely hotel in lovely surroundings, pleasant dining room. Disappointed with the afternoon tea, the sandwiches were few not much filling and the bread was very dry. The cakes were nice but sickly sweet. I've had better.

Hotel is gorgeous beautiful remote location, the rooms are very comfortable and bar area nice to chill.The restaurant let us down a bit but that's maybe due to challenging times, the management and staff apologized and did their up most to make sure it wasn't a complete disaster.
