Cafe Marseille in Northampton

Went there for brunch a couple of weeks ago. Food was nice but not all items from the menu available. We were only told some items weren't available when we tried to order them. On the whole nice place though and staff were friendly. Would go there again.

Really nice food but it would have been better if we had known at the point of booking that the menu was limited to brunch choices only due to a party. We weren’t even told when we were given the menu upon arrival so naturally we were disappointed that what we had initially chosen wasn’t possible to have.

I booked a table for Mother's Day. The booking process online was very straightforward and I had confirmation of my booking back very quickly. As my booking was for Afternoon Tea I did have to pay a deposit, but that was done quickly and efficiently over the phone. In arrival at the restaurant we were greeted and shown to our table. We were seated in the sofa benches in the window. The table was lovely and we had a good view of the whole restaurant which is so pretty. The waitress bought our afternoon tea over and we were very impressed with the selection and quantity we received for the price that we paid. The sandwiches and cakes were fresh and tasty and the macaroons were delicious. After we'd finished our afternoon tea we stayed for a cocktail. The restaurant has an extensive selection of gins and a good choice of non-alcoholic cocktails. The staff we friendly and attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere and décor made for a really lovely dining experience. Will definitely be coming back again at some point to try some more of the menu.

A beautiful little restaurant with a great selection of food.The staff are very cheerful and help to create a positive atmosphere within the restaurant, which is also due to the cosiness of the place.Having tried the frogs legs and the escargot, I can definitely say I'll be back here again.It was clear to see the other patrons enjoy their evening too, which was accompanied by live music, Geoff Tooley and Mike Kemp.A special thank you to Gabriel, Edita and the last waitress, whose name I did not get, for the swift, friendly and diligent service, despite the full house.

Lovely meal last night .. Really iked the honey glazed camembert starter and the octopus main.. yummy

Nice place, moderately expensive. Cozy velvety sofas, beautiful decor. Ordered mini pancakes for my toddler, and they are to kill for. Sure I don't have to mention, I ended up finishing half of her plate. 🤣

We have come across this restaurant online and it is the best food we’ve had in Northampton.Me and my partner like to travel, vlog and explore new cuisines and we were so pleasantly surprised by the service as well as the food, that it has become our favorite place to dine!Can’t wait for their jazz evenings and wine tasting! Appalling treatment from management.I was taken here today, as a surprise for my 21st birthday, by two close friends.We were served by a lovely waitress, who provided our tasty drinks. The starters were delicious.My 2 friends ordered different dishes but they both had douphinoose potatoes, that they both acknowledged were cold. However one of them was shocked to find that not only was that cold but her duck too. Which was interesting due to the fact that there was not very many customers anyway and none that we saw had hot or much food. Naturally she informed the waitress, apologetically, who then asked what she would like to do to rectify the issue. The friend was fine with it being warmed up, but eventually they decided to order another dish - in hopes that she could still eat with us. OK, we thought that was it.Her steak was brought out and after a bite, the waitress could see that my friend was not impressed so she prompted her to give her honest opinion. My friend said its fine, she will give feedback after - not wanting to inconvenience then any further that the steak was terribly made. Unfortunately after a couple more small bites she found a HAIR at the bottom of the steak - clearly not just fell on top of it! ( she has afro Caribbean hair, that was braided) we all saw the hair and it absolutely couldn't have been hers, nor ours because no one else had touched her plate. She called the waitress over and showed her that she had hair on the steak, the waitress was seemingly embarrassed and didn't say much. She took the steak away. Not once did the chef come out to see the issue or talk to us. After waiting a little longer she came back out and told that management had decided it was not the chef's hair or facial hair and that my friend was NO LONGER WELCOME at this place!!! We were shocked and asked why, as well as to speak to a manager - conveniently no one came to talk to us. It was then implied that they seemed to believe that my friend was trying to avoid paying for her food - the food she had hardly touched! Extremely humiliating and strange response to someone reporting a hair in their food. We also added up the cost of out food and there is an extra £6.30 added that we can't figure out.

Just visited for brunch and was thoroughly impressed! Great atmosphere, lovely decor and good music. Service was great too and the food was amazing! Food was beautifully presented and portion sizes are great value for money. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

I went the other day with a friend for a brunch. It was lovely. Place is cosy an clean. Nice food selection and absolutely delicious. Great coffee! Staff is very friendly. I really enjoyed my time in Cafe Marseille 😍
