Fantastic fish and chips, had the haddock. Faultless. Really nice venue as well, the music was just right, the cider was great and the food was superb. Can't think of the last time I had such a nice fish and chips. Server was friendly and efficient

Food is great. Staff even better. Everything was good. The only thing I would change it's a payment methods. They don't take cash which is not the best situation if you're carer and need to pay in cash. If the cash payment will be available option then I'll add 5th star.

Great place for watching the football. Drinks were really over priced though (£6 for a bottle of cider is quite steep for students).

A 50/50 review. We came in on Friday 18th of September and we scanned the covid application form to identify ourselves, we asked for 4 coca colas and the barman told us to go through to the restaurant to be served, we sat down and looked at the menu, my wife then noticed that it was card payment only. If we knew that we would of went else where as we only had cash, but the manager let us away with it but only if we would accept that there would be no change, the staff were excellent and it was very covid friendly, and clean, my wife and myself ordered the fish and chip meal, and my son and daughter opted for the kids sausage and chip meals, my wife said not to worry as she heard lots of good news regarding the food, But I was a little disappointed with the size of the portions it was very small, and for £50:00 there wasn't a lot to show for the money, a small portion of curry sauce which was adequate for some of the chips for dipping, an O.A.P sized portion of Fish and chips. To compare prices to a normal chip shop with better quality you would of had the same meal for under £20 including drinks. Bearing in mind that there was no bread & butter that came with the meal, it was just the box standard meal nothing more, nothing less, for that sort of price you would expect something a little more exciting. The food came quick, the temperature of the food was excellent and the service was good, the only downside was portion size, food presentation, and lack of originality. It was my daughters 13th birthday the day before and as she couldn't do nothing we treated her to Lighthouse as a treat, we travelled 25 miles to get to it, I think she was also a little let down but we promised her that we would make it upto her.So here we go pointsStaff 10/10Cleanliness 9/10Food presentation 4/10Portion size 4/10Covid practice code 10/10Toilets 10/10Price 3/10Time waiting on food 10/10Drinks 10/10Star rating 3/5

We had high hopes for this place! It appears they serve award winning pies but by the time we discovered that we'd already ordered what we came for... fish and chips and we were disappointed. The price point is higher than other fish and chip places so I expected more than standard fish and chips. It was slightly below standard. The main issue was the flavor of the fish, when we compared our experience here to other places like George's in Nottingham that charge a higher price for their food and service and consistently meet expectations, I believe an adjustment should be considered until they fix the flavor issue.

Always lovely food, cooked freshly a few feet away from the seating area. The Koppaberg black cider is ++delicious. It's important to support local business like this rather than the mass-market chain ones.

Love the fish and chips and very friendly service

Good vibe and modern setting if a little overpriced. Lots of TVs for watching sports and a fish and chip restaurant at the back (can also eat in the bar). Not fantastic for vegans: it's chips or bust! At least they're cooked in vegetable oil.The beer selection is decent but there aren't any local microbrews on tap. Would be good to have a rotating local guest ale.

Great service with a warm welcome feeling like I'm at home or around a friends as a guest, the food is amazing and the fish is to melt in your mouth accompanied with traditional chunky hand cut chips with a nice crunch.Oh and to top it off it's a sports bar as well as a restaurant so can watch any sport I like with the numerous amounts of screens they have. Good job!
