The Cordwainer in Northampton

Had mixed grill... Couldn't eat pork at all, and my friends steak was so chewy she gave up and 9 chips and a handful of crispy bits!! ... Spoke to someone at bar about it, he said 'ok' and walked away, I waited, but he didn't get back... So I left in end, sad as I use to come here regularly.. Drink was nice, but can't really ruin a pint.

Extravagantly gay friendly. I meet all my boys here every weekend. Fantastically roomy toilet cubicles too. Very discreet.

Was visiting family up here as I’m from wales thought I’d try spoons as usually fine where I live I ordered a mixed grill large may I add I was not asked how I wanted my steak my food was then brought out in 6minutes now if u can cook fresh mixed grill that quick u better than Gordon Ramsey and then I was presented with this worst food I ever eaten in my life

When I arrived it smelled of cigarette smoke and vape as I walked in the front door and then I realized why....... Why have a smoking area outside if you're just gonna open the entire wall and let it all blow in. Over all I found it unsuitable for a family meal because of it. I've been before and it either had been installed since or was closed at the time. Frankly it's a ridiculous design choice as it is probably in violation of smoking regulations and likely cost a fortune that could have been better spent on things like menus being properly printed.TL:DR Two stars because the food I ate previously was as expected for the price, didn't stay to eat this time because of the cloud coming in from the garden through the open garage door in place of a wall.

Very nice place, with friendly staff. Very clean and hygienic. Great value for money, on both drinks and food.

One of the great pub in Northampton and especially with friends and family, this is the right place to have fun. I have been here many times and I love chicken tikka curry with rice and bread, buttermilk chicken burger and spicy chicken wings is my favourite with a final taste of brownie with ice cream 😊.A huge thumbs up to this pub and I would recommend people to visit with your friends and family at-least once.

I have to say, this is among the top five Weatherspoons we have visited near on a hundred, I say this because the drink; particularly the Guinness is excellent, the food first class and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The pub is also clean and on a Friday at 5 pm there's no rif raff!

Very friendly service and greeting here, particularly the male member of staff: Sam.I had the small vegetarian brunch with a kombucha and free refills coffee for just over a fiver!An interesting array of information on the walls commemorating the town's contribution to shoemaking.Food great value for money; clean inside and out with a nice terrace on two floors
