The Orangery at Delapre Abbey in Northampton

Enjoyed the brunch very much. Lovely serving lady. One small thing,when you bring cups of tea can also bring a small pot to put your used teabag in, horrid on the saucer. Thank you

Nice location ruined by appalling service.We arrived at 2:30pm the time we booked and was promptly seated. We ordered our selection of tea's and tap water and was told it would be a moment. 35 MINUTES LATER we finally recieved our drinks and tap water and by 3:15pm we finally recieved our food (45 minutes later).The food itself was okay but nothing special and didn't have much savoury like other people mentioned. By the time we were half way through it was way too sweet and spoiled it. Staff wasn't very welcoming or helpful and did just enough to actually provide service.Overall lackluster. If you are looking for somewhere nicer I would reccomend the dining room in town.

We booked afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were seated in a very grand room set out for dinning with immaculately cleaned tables, beautifully set with views looking out across the Abbey grounds. The food was presented stylishly and was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Overall the facilities are well thought out with good access for wheels of any kind. The toilets although downstairs, do have a lift if needed, are well maintained and unisex. A very pleasant afternoon was had and we look forward to going again, soon I hope.

We had a lovely afternoon tea. The sandwiches and cakes were good. There was one small scone each we both felt they should have been bigger. Service was good.

We chose to eat outside and enjoy the sunshine. We were told someone would come and take our order. After waiting 10 mins my wife went in to be told you have to order at the counter. We ordered our food which would have been really nice but it was served in cardboard boxes with cardboard cutlery, to be honest it really spoilt the taste as I could only taste cardboard.When I asked I was if we could have plates and cutlery I was told no because people had been stealing them.You can only have the plates etc if you eat in.

Dissapionting- we waited few weeks for the afternoon tea. In the end food was ok but service terrible. We waited 20 min for someone to approach us and when it finally happened Lady realised we were not given menu. Once given menu we were waiting another 20 min to order drinks. Food arrived first and we needed to wait for drinks. Alltogether around 1h without drinks. Not comfortable when you want to enjoy your time.

Have been a couple of times for brunch here now and both times have had lovely food. The staff are friendly and there if you need them but not constantly in your face. The food was lovely on both occasions - had something different each time. Overall a very pleasant experience and can't wait to come back.

Very disappointed! Considering the reviews and the price, I was very disappointed with the afternoon we had this week. The bread was hard, and there was very little filling in any of the sandwiches. The scones were over baked and more like rock cakes. The cakes were very average. Service was ok, but nothing special. Luckily I was in very good company which was the best bit! We will not be returning.

I visited here on the 25th of March, I came here after my walk around delapre Abbey doing film photography. While the weather was nice. Being autistic with my lanyard and many badges to say I am autistic & adhd & others. I ordered a latte and ask to look at the menu ( as being autistic I need a visual menu. I opted for the egg sandwich. They asked my name ( I gave them it ). I got my coffee first, and started to sip it while I await my take out sandwich.While the young lady was pleasant enough. I feel the customer service is lacking and the fact me being autistic and showing my hidden disability lanyard was ignored. Upon this the wait for my sandwich was diabolical. 15 minutes passed and I'm still stood about. While more people came in. At this point I was the only one having a takeout sandwich to what I could see. Also having sensory of hearing the music and the people I could not hear my name being called. I'm still standing wondering is this sandwich lost in the twilight zone. Its 20 mins now. I'm losing hope being adhd my appetite tends to go.. so when I saw a suspicious looking box on the side. Not one member of staff bothered to take notice. I get you have customers to serve. But hello autistic adhd in a sensory hell of noise wanting to eat my damn sandwich I been waiting eons for.. finally a young lady notices my box with my takeout sandwich in and says my name. Well yes I was the only one here waiting for a takeout sandwich. By the time it got to me and I sat out in the grounds my appetite had gone and only ate half a sandwich. From the waiting about to the sensory overload , to being ignored or they had no clue and customer service lost in a black hole of chaos. As for the coffee it taste like burnt beans and had been rushed. Careless coffee , staff having no idea and not taking in ones hidden disabilities and making me wait.. and I wasted £9.15 .Please improve all the above.An actually Autistic person who only wanted a egg sandwich and had to wait eons for it.
