The Squirrels Inn in Northampton

Cant believe how far this place has fallen, used to be a welcoming pub, good food and enjoyable evening out, went in for a pint today, only a couple of people sat at the bar, went through to what was the restuarant to watch the football scores, and was amazed to see 3 young lads who didnt appear old enough to be drinking, openly smoking in front of the barmaid who didnt seem at all bothered, went into the bar as the smell of smoke was overwhelming to find 4 other lads again not appearing old enough to drink sat in the corner, again the bar staff didnt seem bothered. Wont be seeing the inside of this place again i am glad to say, very sad to see what was a nice pub become such a sorry place to go.

A friendly pub, but seemingly winding down for a temporary closure and refurbishment. No crisps or nuts!

Absolute dump... even the taxi driver told me they hate picking up from there. And I've also heard someone had their drink spiked in there. Avoid at all costs !! Should be closed down.

This pub has been going downhill for years. Always different staff every time I go in who don’t seem to care. It’s good for a few games of pool and then head to the Melbourne. A much better pub

Brilliant staff. Made us so welcome. Very patient. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was really good value and was served on a hot plate where relevant. Lots of custard with the delicious puddings. This was our second visit and there were two lots of 4. Will definitely return.

My first choice for a night out. Love it here. Service is always spot on. Food is always hot. Totally recommended for a meal out. Update. Social distancing is comfortable. Table service available so it's all good here

Staff need to be educated in customer service. Waited over 1 1/2 hrs for food and a number of our party gave up and went across to the chip shop. The manager didn’t have the guts to come and speak to us and the assistant manager was running up and down stairs to speak to him. We were given a number of “ we are short on staff” but shouldn’t have taken the booking if they knew that we’re not going to be able to fulfil the booking in an acceptable amount of time. Will never set foot in this pub again.

Charming pub with a good selection of classic fare prepared well. Friendly service. Fun decor. It even has a beer garden. The steak and ale pie is delicious, with a thick flaky crust, but the four cheese penne is just as good.
