Didn't go in but met my friend outside to proceed on an 18 mile cycle ride. This place is currently our meeting landmark. But those whose earlier here say its a really nice place to visit.

Visited today for an impromptu lunch with my husband and stepson. The food did take quite a while to arrive but when it did arrive it was beautiful. Very tasty and very hot.The staff were lovely and worked hard.I had the Stilton mushrooms starter as my main, my husband ordered the stargazy fish pie which was really nice. Very tasty. My stepson ordered the hunters chicken and he said that the chicken was lovely and not at all dry.I would come again.Thank you.

Do not understand the poor experience reviews on here. I know staff were struggling to keep up with demand as we came out of lockdown over the summer - but they have always been nothing but polite and friendly and do the best they can to accommodate despite not knowing how many people are going to randomly descend. I think the place has a really nice vibe, I've never been disappointed with any food I ordered. The Sunday dinner is amazing and they do takeaway, I couldn't cook a better Sunday lunch myself and tried an alternative from a Burton Joyce pub which wasn't a patch on Griffin. Thankyou to all the staff for always making me feel comfortable and never rushing me to make a table available for someone else. Your all amazing ❤️

Beer choice was decent. Food was really nice. Let down majorly by the service, had to ask to have order taken after a long wait, or was taken wrong, and then had to ask if we could pay after another long wait. Was alright though overall.

Decided to go out for Christmas dinner for the first time and decided on Griffins Head as we had a fantastic Sunday dinner once before. The food was fantastic and the staff were all really friendly and accommodating. I am on a gluten free diet and was well catered for with a full five course menu.Highly recommend and we will more than likely be booking again next year!Thank you to all the front of house and kitchen staff.

Had an enjoyable Sunday lunch, food was great. Really enjoyed the belly pork melted in your mouth only down side was the crackling wasn't crackling. Safe very good. Griffins Head is still a enjoyable pub, not like a pub chain which has gone away from the pub atmosphere. Well done.

Erratic service of food all ordered at the same time. Some came after 40 mins, some took over an hour. One order was disregarded as they thought it was a duplicate and not merely a second person ordering the same items from a very limited menu. Had ran out of most things.Vegan options very uninspiring. Salad had no dressing and was mostly chopped pepper.Camden pale tasted very weird and kind of dusty. Will stick to the Station I think.

Haven't been here for years. Had a really lovely meal. The restaurant was toasty warm, nicely decorated and there was a nice welcome from friendly staff. Was offered a choice and position of table when we arrived so were able to pick a lovely quiet table by the window. Waitress very attentive and polite, checked for extra vegetables at out request. Didn't have to wait long for our meal, nicely presented and hot. Good quality steak and ale pie and good portion size. Enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely return.

A great setting to visit rain or shine. I had gone down for my first time for a Classic car meet. Unfortunately the rain put off a few but that still did not disappoint me. The staff the food/drink and the clientele was my kind of scene.I will be backThank you for a great experience
