Not too good, we had to wait for the chef to come into work which we didn't mind however the food was not good when it came out. Ordered a Surf and Turf medium, the prawns were over cooked and the steak under cooked. Manager was super helpful and very pleasant and gave my Mum a free desert. However there was another staff member who was pleasant but didn't seem to want to go the extra mile for example it was very cold in there while we were waiting asked if we could have the heating turned up was told there was a problem with it, end of a bit later the Manager came over and on discussion we said how cold it was and she immediately went to get a fan heater to help with the heating, so Manager excellent could not do enough however other member although pleasant needs to look at how Manager managed the situation and take sone pointers.

The setting and environment is OK in this building, a typical food pub. Food is OK but not great and portion sizes are a little on the small side for an adult male. The service was a little slow we had to wait 40 minutes before our food arrived and you have to go up to the bar to order but no one tells you upon entering the pub. This is some where that I would probably go back to if I lived closer for convenience but will not be making a trip to if I lived further away than 10 miles, there is better in the area.

Nice food and decent setting, they also have some very good deals on throughout the week such as 2 steak dinners for £16 on a Thursday and then a bottle of wine for £10 Thursday to Sunday.Would have been 4 stars but the service was slow considering the pub wasn’t particularly busy. 40 minutes for food to arrive.

Out with family, dining on the festive menu. Nice food, Turkey in particular was very tasty. All meals hot and servings were plentiful. All in all a really nice meal for the price, can recommend. Bar service was quick also and friendly team. Thanks for looking after us. Only thing not 5 stars as was a large rowdy party nearby making it difficult for us to chat.

The wait time for food on a late Sunday afternoon was awful, especially considering that there were not that many people in. We waiting about an hour for starters (we were told there was an hour and a bit wait for food, so this was okay) but then the mains took almost another hour. I’m giving two stars because the waiter was friendly and I felt bad for him, and also the food was half decent when it actually arrived.

My family and i had a meal here on thurday 29th of July for my mum's 70th and my son's 22nd.The service was exceptional the food was brill,no long waiting times between starter and main even though we were a big number, the same with the drinks orders 😀There were two.new staff members on shift and they tried very hard and did a really good job to keep up.But i have to say our night was made perfect by the lovely Heather, she is totally amazing at her job and looked after us really well, her bubbly personality gave us alot of entertainment and my dad has took a proper shine to her,he was still speaking about her this morning 🤣She is a credit to the company and i hope the management see this and praise her well she totally deserves it,we couldn't thank her enough for everything and especially all the help with the cakes. Thanks to her the night was exactly how we wanted it and more 💞She is the best💋

It was great to go back to The Hemlock Stone after seeing its doors closed for such a long while. The food was lovely, we each had a different main, the roasted cauliflower salad was delicious one of the nicest meals out I have had in a while. The deal 2 for £8 cocktails in the evenings is great and they have a nice range to choose from. I would have rated 5 stars but I did not see one member of staff wearing a mask or face visor, I understand that people have exemptions but a whole team seems highly unusual. That being said all staff were pleasant.
