As already said, rooms a tiny bit dated, but our room was actually very pretty. Also amazingly clean, lovely friendly staff and good food. Would recommend!

Stayed in Lavender for one night, as per previous reviews, it’s ready for a refurb but I fully understand the difficulties faced over the last two years. It didn’t detract from the very comfortable bed with high quality bedding. The shower was fantastic and the towels big and fluffy. The setting of the hotel is lovely, surrounded by gardens and I imagine worth a visit in warmer weather. We had a warm welcome and were shown to our room by a pleasant member of staff. Breakfast service was good, plenty of cereal, pastry and fruit choices and a well cooked hot breakfast.

Nice friendly place, clean and tidy but needs alittle more care is needed generally in the room, only small things like stains on carpet, taps hard to turn off shower unit needs up grading. Would I stay again, yes.

We had our wedding reception at the cottage hotel last week. I just want to thank Sue and her team for making the experience wonderful. The food was excellent and everyone kept saying how much they enjoyed the food.

We recently had a 2 night stay for our daughter's wedding and it could not have been better. The staff were friendly, helpful & efficient, and wedding wise it all ran smoothly. The room for the ceremony and wedding breakfast was beautiful and there was plenty of room for dancing later. We loved that there were smaller 'snug' areas for people to go and chat if they wanted to be somewhere away from the disco. The outside areas were beautiful with loads of flowers and hanging baskets, and a great garden for photos after the ceremony. We ate in the hotel restaurant the evening before, and both then and at the reception the food was superb. Our room was clean and well equipped, the bed comfy and had plentiful hot water (bath as well as a shower). It was great to stay somewhere with character rather than a bland chain hotel. There was also plenty of parking for guests. The hotel is situated in the lovely village of Ruddington. We made the five minute walk into the centre of the village on the morning of the wedding to find an excellent market on the village green. We can absolutely recommend the Cottage Hotel for anyone looking for a perfect wedding venue and can't emphasise enough how great the staff were.

My wife and I were just married here this past weekend.I cannot praise Sue and the rest of the team enough. They went above and beyond to make our day one we will never forget. They were especially helpful accommodating a surprise guest at 12 hours notice. We could not have imagined a better wedding if we tried! We absolutely loved our room and the whole venue was beautiful from start to finish.I would also like to thank the bar team, especially Tucker for helping to keep the party going into the night! We have absolutely no regrets for the day and we cannot recommend the cottage hotel enough.Mr & Mrs H x

Lovely venue, attended a family wedding here just this weekend. Staff were so accommodating and friendly and looked like they were having a great time too! Food was also really good, not easy to cater for a large group but they pulled it off. Would really recommend for a wedding, we had a wonderful time, great indoor spaces and outside pretty too.

What a wonderful wedding venue - olde world character hotel with beautiful gardens and lots of space to enjoy chatting, dancing, drinking and eating. Staff work really hard to ensure the day flows and that everyone has a great time. I can honestly say one of the best weddings I have ever attended - biased - yes but also wanted a great day for my son and his new wife - they didn’t disappoint.!!

Had a lovely couple of days to stay for a wedding at another venue, but sadly the hotel was a bit of a disappointment. The staff were great and very friendly, but the hotel let them down. Our room was very tired and in serious need of decorating and repairs. Although the bed was clean and comfortable the mirrors and windows were smeary. We didn't get a change of towels or replenishment of the tea and coffee over the 2 nights we stayed. The shower was great, but the water went everywhere even though we tried our best to stop the flood. One serious issue though was the hot tap on the sink, which got extremely hot, too hot to was hands.I sympathise with the hospitality industry, but this room must have been in this sorry state before the lockdown.Perhaps a bit of TLC of the rooms is overdue. One other request, it would be nice if breakfast tables were cleared more regularly.Sorry to be negative, but you have the basis of a lovely hotel, with a bit of work.
