Notcutts Wheatcroft in Rushcliffe

Spoke briefly to a member of staff today enquiring about garden mulch. Not knowing much about the stuff, I asked him how much I might need for 38 square metres of flower beds. Get this "I don't know. That means I'll have to go outside if you want me to tell you" Actually I was hoping to know but this chap clearly appears to be troubled by potential customers disturbing his day. Safe to say I gave up, thinking "no perhaps you need to stay indoors" and ending the call. I did find a supplier who was extremely helpful and I have sufficient for our needs being delivered on Monday.

Plenty of different things to buy ,eg garden ,plenty house hold items ,thy have a cafe we had soup with cob and two teas ,it came to £15 which was a bit dear , but the soup was lovely and hot ,it's well worth a visit

Hot food times are *not* as advertised!I really like this garden centre but whoever is in charge of the signage makes it really hard for visitors!I bought my toddler for dinner at about 3:40pm, the sign said hot food until 4pm so I figured we’d be fine… at the till, the girl working the counter said that the kitchen was closed now, I said (nicely!) that the sign said otherwise, and she went to check and came back conforming that it was closed. She was really nice, and of course it isn’t her fault, but it made a big mess of dinner time, and the sign was pretty clearly incorrect!I don’t complain generally, defo not a Karen, and by all means, close your kitchen whenever you want! But please correct the signage.Next time, I fear the wrath of a hungry 3 year old will be unleashed on everything within a 50 metre radius of the cafe!!

Unfortunately, whilst the garden centre is warm,clean..well stocked and dressed up to a high standard it's also reflected strongly in the prices which just tend to make you exclaim' how much',!??We are weathly people,we can afford to buy many things but we are also not ignorant or oblivious to the cost of products available.Sure retailers will argue about choice and quality, the surroundings, heating,staff but choice and quality is marketing talk.Wheatcroft garden centre is expensive,it's similar inflated prices to Brookfield's garden centre at Nottingham.There's no excuse for the inflated expense to be honest.Larger stores carrying larger stock should be more competitive ,but it seems this isn't the case.Smaller shops should be more expensive as they are shifting less stock and are not part of a chain.When you walk through the store you know they are attracting a particular type customer of a certain age and with a certain amount of available cash to spend.You also only have to look at the locations of these Garden centres.If your a real gardener with some common sense you'll use a local nursery for plants like the brilliant JW Stone at Lambley , you'll get them at a much more sensible price with a more personal service and great knowledge.I'm sure the response will be about over heads blah blah ,but it doesn't wash.These garden centres are unreasonably expensive.If you have any sense you'll shop elsewhere.

Despite changing over from Christmas there is still much to see than the garden centre. Nice restaurant and currently massive discounts on regatta clothing. Lots for children to see. We've been going years, the transformation certainly keeps up with the times. Always good to visit.

Alot of gardening products, clothes & food deli to choose from. Good lunches/food and has a nice atmosphere. My favourite was the Aquarium section with beautiful fish.

I love coming here as it always has a great range of plants and shrubs. They've also got loads of stuff insoide too and gift ideas. Well worth a visit if youre looking for something for the garden and even the house. Nice place

A nice afternoon out but very inflated prices. For example 4 quid for a sponge cake and £26 for a box of Christmas crackers. Lots to see - not just garden stuff - kitchen shop, Christmas display , summer houses, sheds, pots, water features, all sorts. Nice and flat, easy walking and not too crowded on a Tuesday afternoon .

A nice Garden Centre in Nottingham. Have been a few times and feel it needs more signage around the centre as had to ask for directions to certain areas and also the way out. Nice gifts and plants also a great restaurant with prompt service and a good selection of food 🍱
