Star Inn in Rushcliffe

During my last day at this beautiful village Gotham I stopped by The Star Inn as it was recommended by my new found friend from Gotham called Big Gazza who runs the “G” restaurant a few minutes away from here. Wow the food is amazing, I ordered small fish and chips and wow! I have to say the portions are big, I am getting a lot of fishy bang for my buck, I believe the fish was at least 4 pounds in weight.I will definitely visit this establishment again on my next trip to Gotham, I hope Big Gazza will still be around.. he seems to be going through a lot. If anyone in Gotham knows Big Gazza, please look out for him.

First time going in & it seemed like kids were running the place to the point they were playing their own music. Felt quite uncomfortable if I'm honest

Large back garden with BQ facilities, plenty of benches. Inside is quite nice but lacking atmosphere, perhaps because lack of drinkers? Still worth a visit, I like pubs that make you feel welcome and a valued customer, sadly on this visit I didn't feel welcome at the Star, something this pub should focus on and gain more visitors not just the usual lone drinker sitting at the bar. Come on pubs start welcoming drinkers back or you will close down!

Great village pub with real ales and home cooked food. One of the best Thai green curries I've had in a long time. Very friendly staff and lovely surroundings. Highly recommended

I turned up late on Sunday, having been stuck on a train back from Oxford. Well past serving hours around 7.30 pm. Tired and hungry, I cheekily asked the landlady if there was any chance of some food. She was clearly tired after a long Sunday service and relaxing with customers. To my surprise she mustered up a full meal, great steak pie, vegetables, potatoes and gravy to take away.. Wow.. That doesn't happen often.. Highly recommended. Great food and even better service..A brilliant local pub😁👌

Recently discovered this lovely warming pub/restaurant, superb atmosphere, great food and drink selections available. Always made to feel most welcome, what more could you ask for!.. give it a try, you'll love it :)

A good village pub on the main road into Gotham with good car parking to the rear. Visited the pub again on Sunday gone 26/08/18 with parents when I was visiting Gotham again & have to say the Sunday menu was exceptional they did Roast Pork, Roast Turkey & Roast Beef dinners as well as Nut Roast for the non meat eater of our group. The decor is exceptional with a good selection of drinks & add to all this they have fabulous beer garden to enjoy on a pleasant summer's day. Parking is available from the rear but can be limited.

Great pub! Excellent landlord, keeps a bloody good pint too! Often has a different guest ale on.Food is great, very good VFM. Try and get in on a karaoke night...the locals let their hair down...it's a blast! Well worth a visit.
