Booked on Saturday afternoon with a group of six friends for lunch on 1/5/22.It was very welcoming by all the staff. The food was delicious and plentiful. Would definitely recommend if you are driving past this village. All home cooked,and delicious. We will be booking again when we visit Normanton on Soar with the caravan

My husband and I have recently moved to the area. We parked up here to have some dinner. As it was so close to the local shop we thought we’d grab some bits quickly before it closed and then head to the pub to eat. We were reading the memorial bench outside the pub and before we had even left the car park the owner (what we think was the owner) came out and shouted aggressively, “are you alright, you’ve left your car in my car park.” To which we were quite shocked. My husband calmly got back in the vehicle and we ended up going to a lovely pub with friendly staff in west leak. Just an outrageous way to speak to someone, and a potential customer. To add there is no clear postage or signage to our knowledge indicating that the car park we had entered was a private car park and we are completely new to the area. I think we won’t be returning here because she was incredibly rude.

A great night out. Celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary with friends. Staff were on hand with drinks and food. All staff were friendly and made everyone feel welcome.
