Busy, friendly and a good meal. We choose from the £10 menu with a good selection, but the are more lighter bits to choose from too. Staff very helpful even though they where very busy.

Visited for the first time with a group of four. We all really enjoyed our visit. We chose of the £10 menu and all the food was hot, tasty and plentiful. We would definitely visit again.

Went yesterday for lunch food was lovely good value for money but the place was freezing no heating on so was very uncomfortable couldn’t wait to leave to get warm in the car so didn’t really enjoy my first visit had the food wrapped up to take home as was to cold to eat it enjoyed it at home though

Decent pub food. Pleasant service. Needs a bit of remodelling as the decor is looking a bit tired. Good value for money, large portions!

Went for the Sunday carvery. They had four meats on (beef, turkey, pork, gammon) plus a large selection of sides you can pile high on your plate. The chipolatas and onion were especially good. Meats were all tasty and cooked perfectly.Tried the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate orange cheesecake, both were excellent.Pub is wheelchair accessible and the team were friendly and very helpful.I would definitely recommend trying The Rancliffe Arms, a great meal and a friendly place to eat.

The car park was just about full when we arrived, as usual. We had made reservations, recommended.After ordering our drinks we were shown to our table. The place was full. We all chose the carvery, a great choice. A large selection of freshly cooked food, everything was cooked to perfection. We finished off with desert and a drink.To sum up a great meal in a great setting. A visit for a special occasion or just a quite dinner for two.Top marks to all the staff.

We chose to have Sunday dinner here due to visiting family in the area.We were taken straight to our seats & had our drinks order taken, the pots of tea are nice & large perfect for two people. The coffee could be a little stronger.For starters we chose to go the soup, which was vegetable being very delicious.For main course we had three carveries, each having different meats; pork, beef & gammon. There was a wide selection of vegetables to pick from, definitely one of the best selections Ive seen in a long time. There was even two types of roast potatoes, standard & others that had herbs & spices on them. One of us also had a vegetable option picking the vegetable tartlets which had a good amount of pastry.All in all a lovely Sunday dinner, & definitely would visit again if in the area.

Had not been for a while and we used to enjoy visits here but it’s gone way downhill now. Staff were unfriendly and looked like they didn’t want to be there. We got the distinct impression they wanted us to leave tbh. There was no offering of sugar with coffee and one waitress literally just dropped a pile of dessert spoons in the middle of the table. Food was average. Sounds like carvery on Sunday is better.

Vistited on the 3rd September with family, Amazing food! Proper tasty and filling, everything tasted fresh, staff are wonderful, very polite and helpful also the cheesecake of the day was sooo nice! Thank you to the staff and chef/s :D will definitely be returning !!!

One of the best carveries I've experienced!There's normally a selection of 4 meats and at least triple that of vegetables!£14.50 for a Sunday lunch carvery may seem a premium price, but the quality is very good.The starter and pudding options are good and reasonably priced, but these are perhaps only needed for the greedy as the carvery portion is very generous.We will definitely be back...
