Absolutely disgusting! Kids pizzas where burnt and dry. The only meal available was a roast or a pizza as the chef had left. The roast was poor with not much available and as for the service it was terrible. The management was argumentative and rude. Never again will i go back.

One of my favourite pubs in Nottingham! Great food, beautiful beer garden, friendly family run pub which allows dogs - what more could you want (only for it to be my local!!)Definitely worth the visit - HIGHLY recommend the Carvery on a Sunday. 10/10 on the carvery front!Just a little update to say they exceed themselves time and time again! No request is too much! Still the best carvery!

We went for a Sunday dinner and they had unfortunately sold out of Roasts by the time we got there. Fine. Told us the other menu was on. Chose our meals to then be told it was just pizzas. So we ordered our pizzas and I must say it felt like they had no idea what they were doing, part of my pizza had goats cheese on instead of ricotta and it definitely feels like they go for quantity over quality. Very unfortunate because we’d had a nice roast there at the end of 2021 which is why I’m giving it 2 stars instead of the 1.

Unfortunately cannot recommend this place. Seemed to be very badly run and managed - really bad service. Multiple items we ordered turned out not to be available, the queues at the bar for drinks were unacceptably long as was the wait for food, which was low to mediocre quality at best.Such a shame as I had a lovely lunch there in September 2021 but would not return after this last visit.

Lovely well managed country pub/restaurant our server was attentative and welcoming with a smile. We had menus and asked what drinks we would like within a few minutes of being seated. We (family of 4 2x adults 2x children) had ordered a carvery which was absolutely delicious all meats were cooked perfectly with the choice of rare orMedium for beef and lamb cuts. Trimmings especially the dauphinois and roast potatoes were really good.Small gripe with trimmings was a lack of veg for out two kids ideally maybe some garden peas and broccoli would be a good addition to the selection. The deserts were really good and fairly priced, we will 100% be returning.

I will start by mentioning that I have previously visited the Unicorns Head and have had a very good experience but on this occasion it was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had. We had booked a table for 2 and when we turned up they clearly hadn't set a table aside for us and mentioned that they would find us one. They took us to a table that already had menus on - turns out there were 2 people previously sat there that had since left - we should have taken this as a sign!We were told the food would be a 40 min wait, which was absolutely fine, we were happy chatting with a drink for a bit, although the restaurant was a little cold. We were also sat very close to the kitchen serving hatch and heard, on multiple occasions, the chef and kitchen staff being rude to the waiting staff who were all very young - we totally understood that kitchen staff were busy and stressed, but there is absolutely no need to be rude to young staff who are likely working for not much money after a full day at school/college, etc, especially when you're so close to customers who can definitely hear you.As time went on there was still no sign of food, we had only ordered 2 pizzas. After waiting an hour and 10 mins for the food, I chased it up and was told it wouldn't be long. Time went on and I chased the pizzas up after we had been sat waiting for an hour and a half, the waitress was very nice and said she would look into it for us. After waiting a few more mins, a table was served that had sat down a good 30 mins after us. At this point we were over waiting, I approached the bar and said I would like to cancel the food and leave. I suggested that we only pay for 1 round of drinks, (we had 2 drinks each during the wait for the food), which the waitress agreed to. - if it was me I wouldn't have charged at all for the drinks. We left over an hour and a half after ordering our food without eating. I have never left a restaurant before without my food arriving and have lost my faith in the Unicorns Head and certainly would not recommend to anyone. We ended up with fish and chips at home in the end!

Friendly and warm pub. Range of draught real ales can be limited. But there is confusion in the room where a projector and screen, darts, pool table, people eating and through flow to the rest rooms compete with one another. A games room is an excellent attraction spoilt by competing activities

Firstly let me start with our food was delicious, no fault there at all.The service however, completely different story. We hadn’t booked, so went in and asked if they could accommodate us (4 adults, 2 children) the 3 waitresses huddled round a laptop took an extraordinary amount of time (in a basically empty pub) to seat us… then left us, no menus, no drink orders, nothing - after asking for them; orders were taken and the wait began… a long wait. Food came and as I said at the beginning, faultless. Then another long wait…we ordered dessert. At this point (we have 2 children under 5; as you can imagine we’ve got pretty good at speed eating) The waitress came over to tell us they will need us to vacate in 30 minutes as they need our table for another booking… we say that’s fine, if you bring the bill now we’ll pay so it’s a bit quicker - from this point we waited a further 20 minutes for our deserts to hit the table… we then could feel the eyes burning on us to move at some pace - we got up and left with a full 5 minutes to spare. But what happened next was the real kick… the same waitress who had been serving us then welcomed a couple to the table next to us as we were leaving - they got one of the warmest welcomes I’ve ever heard, a full introduction, menus and drink orders and even a cheery smile… at that point it was pretty clear they hadn’t wanted us to dine with them.

Absolutely fantastic. Sunday roast was on point. Loads of meat. Parsnips are delicious, I don't even like parsnips. Everything made with love, not mass produced. Each thing on my plate had its own taste. Best sunday lunch I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend. Will definitely be back soon! Thank you!

We had been recommended to eat here. And we wasn't disappointed. The restaurant was decorated nicely. We enjoyed the variety of Gins on offer before our meal.We had a starter and and main course. We didn't have any more room for a dessert. As a family group we chose different meals and we thoroughly enjoyed the food we have eaten. The service was excellent and the staff very welcoming. We certainly will be back here the next time we're in the area.
