Absolutely fantastic experience. Despite being very busy this Good Friday, the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive but on top of that, the food was delicious and perfectly cooked.

Excellent! Sat in the garden for dinner. Service was good, and the Hornblower pie (chicken and leek) was delicious. Great mash and gravy too. Fondant for dessert was gooey and very chocolatey. Definitely glad we chose to eat there.

Just too difficult to order special dietary needs. No coding on the menu. No vegetarian options I believe. Ciabatta range 100% meaty. So very difficult. Involves a big discussion with the staff to order a sandwich and the offering was normal cheese and tomato. I feel the menu needs to be looked at, not so much the food, but the wording and thinking about with the Venn diagrams of dietary needs. Felt like 15 years ago.

As a belated valentine's we had a 2 night break in Oakham. The food was reasonably priced and delicious -the bream fillets were super. We were in room 4 with the 4 poster, a in little noisy from the bar the first night ( went to bed too early), but a pleasant room and ensuite. Shower head a little on the low side for my 6ft 2" but easily manageable. A lovely village for a short break.

Really enjoyed our recent visit for Sunday lunch... so much so we returned the next day for lunch before travelling home, which was lovely too! We'll definitely be back when next staying in the area.

I visited the venue for drinks. Decor is really pleasant and staff is very welcoming and friendly. Food was fresh and tasty (I had a Sunday roast). I didn't have the chance to try other dishes. I may return. It was a good Sunday lunch!

So for the pub, staff and breakfast it is definitely a 5 star (especially the staff). However we did pay to sleep here but couldn't sleep as a result of the AWFUL mattress on the bed (Room 1). Lovely room but awful mattress. Alongside that the toilet didn't flush!!! Shame really as if these two issues hasn't been issues it would have been a great end to a great day. The staff are the Jewell of this place for sure

Visited the Admiral Hornblower for the first time to have lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the feel of restaurant. We hadn't book but that was not a problem and immediately shown to a table for four. Staff were very professional and the four meals we had were excellent. Good value for money, certainly would return and recommend.

Such a shame as this has the makings to be a fantastic restaurant. After a terrible Sunday lunch about 4 years ago when I vowed never to return, I was persuaded to go for lunch on Sunday. We all had the hake which was lovely but not good value as small portions. We then thought we would have a dessert as we all still had room. We went for sticky toffee pudding; one with ice cream and 2 with custard. That is exactly what arrived like school dinner. No finesse, just stuck in a bowl swimming in custard. What added insult to injury is that it was burnt. Not slightly but completely burnt. Left a terribly bitter taste in the mouth.....Apologies; no chance!!!2 desserts were credited (one of the group had eaten 3/4 before it dawned on her it had a strange taste!!!)If they want to see how food should be served could I suggest a visit to The Jackson Stops in Stretton.

We were looking forward to a delicious meal, and we weren't disappointed. The table was great, big enough, and distant enough from others, with a view of the outside. We received quick, polite friendly service, food quality of the highest level, and a price that reflected the surroundings and comfortable dining room. We'll be back!
