The Black Bull in Rutland

We had a Saturday night meal here with 4 adults and 2 kids. The food was absolutely fantastic. It was the last Saturday of the month which was grill night so we all had steaks. All the meat was nice and good quality and cooked exactly as we had asked for it. Lovely little pub with a lovely atmosphere. We went away really impessed. Will definitely return.

I was doing the Rutland Round and there was no accommodation at Thislteton - so ended up at Market OvertonWhilst the pub was closed on a Monday I still was able to stay - did not realise this before I booked - I was given a code to a key safe for the room (number 1)Breakfast the next day was excellent and set me up for the last day (Tuesday)

Service and food was excellent. There was a brand new menu the night we were in and everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. Portion sizes and quality were great. I had the fish and chips which were very good (Although I forgot to take a photo) and the Chocolate Fondant which was apparently a new item. All delicious with a great selection of drinks.

Popped into the Black Bull for a pint and snack whilst out for a long walk. It is dog friendly and has a good atmosphere. The owner loves and makes a real fuss over the dogs as well. I will return for lunch or dinner with my wife as the meals that some of the other customers were eating looked great. Definately worth a return visit.

We had an absolutely fabulous meal here with very good service and it was very good value for money. It was our first visit but we will definitely be returning. We wish we'd found this Inn years ago.

We've just had a lovely meal. Very welcoming and friendly. Clean and a good choice on the menu. Lovely atmosphere all round.

Visited without a booking, they were very accommodating. The staff were brilliant and helped us out, we ordered the 3 roast dinner, the meat was cooked to a very high standard. We had our two of our grandchildren with us and they were very well looked after. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend that you visit but do book as I believe it can get busy.
