I love this hidden gem of a pub, i discovered it by chance about two mouths ago, and have visited it , now over a hand full of time now.The staff are truly amazing, more than happy going above and beyond, the real ale is spot on with a good chose of there local brew. The traditional atmosphere of the pub is what you expect, but with great detail and class countdown to to the log fire and dog friendliness. But the food is a real hight light, and what i keep going back for, its honestly one of my hight lights and treat for the week, to the point i have to find an excuse to the wife so we can pass and pop in.I have aways left happy and my belly very full and would definitely personally recommend you willnt leave disappointed.10/10

Late Sunday lunch for 6. I did book well in advance, had a fabulous meal in our own little alcove. Staff were really friendly and also professional. Chef came out to chat a few times too which was really good.Food is not cheap but realistically priced for the quality and environment.Super dog friendly too. Thanks to all at Blue Ball, top marks!

We went here for a Saturday lunch and had a really lovely time in this cosy pub. The vibe is exactly what I look for in a country pub with a good balance of walkin space and tables for drinkers and diners. It feels welcoming to all. The food was of a high standard and I was particularly impressed with their homemade pie. I saw a review here saying they felt it was overpriced but i feel well crafted good food made with quality produce should not be cheap and I think it's fair. The service was friendly if a little bit shy.

Really enjoyed our recent evening meal, food was really delicious. Staff very helpful, sent email beforehand of new menu, as not online for some reason! Lots of choice for all courses, didn't have a dessert but looked lovely. Would definitely recommend, and visit again soon.

Only called in for a drink. The staff were really friendly and the pub looked very clean and cosy. We will definitely be giving it a try for a meal.

We enjoyed the ‘feel’ of this country pub; low beams, cozy dining areas, fires to be lit on colder days, and lack of TVs and over decoration.Food: We had the fish and chips (the chips with their skins on were almost doubled-cooked crispy which we liked). The side of minted pea soup was a delicious pea substitution. Our other choice was salmon with flavourful kale, a tower of potatoes, and pomegranate seed decoration. Other dishes being served were chunky steaks and sausage and mash which we heard described as “scrummy.”Drinks: Our drinks were Doom Bar, and their tasty personal custom brewed bitter. (See the attached pictures to get an idea of the bitter's copper color.)We did think we caught them on a slightly off day (Wednesday lunch), with serving staff lighter and newer than usual. We waited quite some time for our food and later found ourselves doing that awkward trying-to-attract-attention head bobbing to ask for our second drinks and bill. However, this will definitely not stop us returning to see what’s new on tap and on their menu.
