Fantastic service and food. My sister and I have frequented The Finch’s for many years and tonight was one of the best. Sometimes we can be really disappointed with a certain very grumpy front of house manager but tonight’s young team was faultless. From our phone call to ask about availability, to our welcoming smile on arrival, everything was great. We were served throughout by about 4 different people who were all a pleasure to deal with. Food was all absolutely lovely but we did suggest some more sauce with the gorgeous ginger sponge pudding. We said this in the nicest possible way as all the food was fantastic, tasty, piping hot, on lovely hot plates. Wine was lovely and cold too. Please Finch’s, this team is fab and is an asset to you. Please don’t let the odd grumpy team member dampen their fantastic spirit. 30th June 2022 full marks from us.

Just had a drink in the Finch's as too busy to serve food.Wonderful South African chap served us at the bar, brilliant customer service, even offered the dogs a drink!Lovely waiting staff, although an older man (obviously the owner) panicked the young girls & rudely bossed them around in front of customers, not nice, this is not how you are supposed to treat your staff or create a happy atmosphere in a once was beautiful country pub.5 stars would've been given but unfortunately the owner let's the place down! :(man (obviously the owner)

We have just had our wedding reception at the Finch's. It was absolutely amazing! After being cancelled twice due to covid, the Finch's moved the reception without hassle on each occasion. They have been tremendous throughout the whole process. Liam made sure everything went seamlessly on the day. The location and venue is stunning. The food absolutely delicious. And the staff were so attentive throughout. Thank you all SO much!Ian & Sarah

Loved this restaurant for years good menus, professional staff, good food good value. Very disappointed on Sat 16th April. Limited menu, citrus salmon was very poor, and steak 25% gristle, v poor. Please get the kitchen back to its high standard.

Stunning country pub serving beautiful cuisine with great service and spotless facilities. Came here for an evening meal on a special occasion and left feeling like it had been a real treat. Will definitely come again and highly recommended.

We came to this beautiful pub for a celebration lunch, and weren't disappointed. Great menu, exquisitely cooked & presented food, top service so very satisfied customers. The whole place was immaculate, lovely stone floors, views across the waterside, plenty of room around the tables but still felt cosy, and the loos were spotless. But get there early as there's limited parking, don't just turn up on the off chance, unless it's out of season, and be prepared to pay for this gem in Rutland. Wonderful.

Lovely setting with views overlooking Rutland water. Food is well presented. Menu is reasonable, with medium-high prices. My dinner was OK but not overly flavoursome (quiche) however my colleagues had other dishes and were pleased (bream and risotto). Car parking seems fairly limited for the capacity of the restaurant but was reasonably accessible. Service was pleasant. Dog friendly.

Had a great lunch at this wonderfully located pub/restaurant. They were offering a special early week lunch menu which was really good value and the food was delicious. We were advised to book as it did get very busy even for a Monday lunch in winter! Staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Very nice hotel. Booked a Friday night to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Very clean and airy. Rooms are small due to the age of the building so is to be expected. Staff were friendly.Food was good and well presented. My only downer was with the full English breakfast. The food was good quality but on a whole was barely warm, the mushrooms were cold and nothing was hot.Booked a reservoir view only to be met with a large gazebo blocking over half the French window, being late January I guess this was fitted for entertainment during the bad weather.Overall a nice place for a short break or stop over, and apart from the coldish breakfast the food is good.
