The Old Buttercross in Rutland

Excellent food. Fabulous staff nothing to much trouble. We had 9 in our party food all came out hot . Starters main and dessert. Definitely will be visiting again. 😊 lady who was looking after us was extremely friendly and kind.

Incredible food, service is always fabulous! Went and tried out the new menu, the southern fried chicken burger is amazing! Fab to see new things on the menu. Been a few times recently and the head chef even made my fav pudding that wasn’t on the menu. Love him! #marryme

Ordered our starters which were fine and arrived in good time. Mains however is a different story. We had at least a 45 minute wait after the starters were finished. The hunters chicken was just warm the pizzas looked aneamic and my rump steak supposedly.28 Mature was so tough I brought home for the dog to chew.she has still not forgiven me and is booked into vet next week for some dental work. All in all not good at not worth the money.

Havent been to the Buttercross for some time but taking advantage of there resent offer and glad we did,The table was ready and we were served quickly and efficiently. The food was well prepared and a thank you to all the staff but a special mention for our waitress Abigail who was just outstanding .many thanks .Kind regards

No one greeted us upon arrival and were sent to go and find a table, despite booking one. The guy who took the order was great, really accommodating to some rather varied requirements. Food was ok, but PLEASE change the chip fat more frequently as it’s rather regular to receive fried food with black bits all over it.

On arrival we were shown to our table and the service was very good. the food came in a satisfactory time and was well cooked and presented. Overall we were very happy with our meal at this establishment.

Our table was ready and we were served quickly and efficiently. The food was well prepared and the waitress could give knowledgeable advice on our choice of meal. We all enjoyed the meal. We would like to give our sincere thanks for the kind and considerate help given when my husband fell on his way out. We were all a bit shocked but got him home safely. After a cup of tea and a sleep he is now stiff but otherwise recovered. Thank you for your help. All the best for 2022. WE WILL DINE WITH YOU AGAIN

We spent quality time with family and friends in the pub over the Christmas period. The new manager is very helpful and helped accommodate us (especially New Years Eve), we live locally and use the pub to grab a quick bite to eat. The food is usually of a good standard.

We had Christmas Day dinner at The Old Buttercross this year and it was absolutely fantastic. Despite having lots of people in, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. Great atmosphere; and a superb price for 3 courses, especially on Xmas Day! Would highly recommend.

Pleasant atmosphere and not too busy. Was a little put off that my pizza wasn't smiling at me as I was consuming it. Was a bit of a wait for the drinks and the person serving forgot our tap water. Overall ok. Was raining when we exited the premises, which was annoying as we didn't order any rain. Broke my guitar playing hip, hip, hooray. Custard powder.
