White Horse Inn in Rutland

Wow what a surprise. It has been a long time since I visited and big surprise a total revamp under new management. The main main has an Italian flavour with excellent quality food in comfortable surroundings. Had a warm welcome from Ben and staff were attentive and readily explained any queries. Although a little more expensive, there is also a cheaper snack menu available also with a good selection of pub classics. I will certainly return again. 😎💙🌎🇬🇧👍

Absolutely shocking meal and service so bad another couple and a young family both walked out as no-one came to take their orders. They had a lucky escape. Vastly overpriced for the greasy fish and processed scampi we were served. Advertised as "gastro pub", what a joke!

First time visit over the weekend and was, sadly, a bit disappointed. The place suffers from a lack of identity with the classic English decor of a country pub, an Italian themed menu, playing American diner music. The food was ok, but not brilliant, and certainly not aligned to the pricing which was quite high for what it was. A decent but unspectacular pizza was 17 quid. Service was fine, but quite empty on a lovely Sunday lunch time, which probably tells a tale in itself.

Great staff great beer kept well but the most amazing beef burger I have ever had . I can only compare it to to the one I had at the British Airways vip lounge and it was better than that. Well worth a visit 10/10

Nothing not to like. We didn't eat but the owner/manager greeted us really well, served us well and was attentive throughout. Nice character pub in a fine location

Went to Rutland water and decided to stop at The White Horse for a drink on the way back- staff were all so lovely and welcoming, extremely clean everywhere and child friendly.We noticed food coming through for other tables that looked delicious so decided to stay for pizza & pasta and it was amazing. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Stumbled across this little gem after a visit to Rutland Zoo.Lovely atmosphere, hosts, food and service. Their pizzas are fabulous.Will definitely pay them a visit next time we're in the area.

Stayed here a weekend in January with a friend. Could not have asked for a better stay. The room was so spacious - two beds and so clean. We had a meal downstairs in the pub. The staff were so attentive and the food was beautiful. Very dog friendly. We decided to stay here because it was so close to Rutland water, only a five minute walk - and we will definitely be back.

Food was fantastic! All 5 of our table had very different meals and all of those meals were incredible! I would especially recommend the fish and the tartar sauce was soooo good! The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be returning!
