Wildwood Kitchen in Rutland

Really helpful waiter found us a table in a warm spot as I was freezing when we arrived. Nice warm environment with friendly staff. I had a Philly Steak and cheese sandwich with fries and it was well cooked but too much oil drizzled on it for my personal tastes, but others would find it fine. My husband had a butter chicken burger with sweet potato wedges which he raved about. Young dark haired lady served us and she was very friendly and bubbly. With non alcoholic drinks it came to circa £33 which was good value.The place is bigger than it looks from the outside. Plenty of off street parking on a night. Suitable for wheelchair users but can't comment on loos as didn't use them.

First time there! Loved it! Definitely going back again! Lovely atmosphere, really good food and very friendly staff! I ordered a Turkey burger , which was very tasty! The fries though, very small portion and I love fries so a little bit on the down side but it wouldn't put me off! Lovely evening!

Husbands meal looked amazing and my starter was beautiful but my main wasn't very good unfortunately. I wasn't expecting my roast dinner to arrive in a bowl. The waitress that served us was lovely though and food was very quick. Lovely atmosphere.

Excellent, authentic wood fired thin crust pizzas. Some waiters need more training but they are friendly Starters are served in good time but the main dish takes quite a lot of time. We had to wait for 45min for 2 pizzas and a pasta dish.

Service was incredible from the front of house staff! However the food was not great, the tagliatelle alla Norma didn't have much depth of flavour and was far too spicey. The cheese burger - the top of the bun was burnt and the bottom felt like it had been in a freezer, sweet potato fries looked and tasted like they'd been fried about 5 times. The food needs improving ten fold to match the impecable front of house service!

Nice friendly staff, tasty pizza and my toddler really enjoyed watching it being made in the big oven. Shame the children's play area isn't open at the moment, but we had enough to occupy us anyway.

Had an enjoyable calzone here, while my wife had a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. Not something that you can get everywhere. Service was quick, and the staff were friendly and enthusiastic. It was noisy though, apparently due to a family meal for about 20, so not really the restaurants fault but it did detract from our evening.

I was pleasantly surprised by Wildwood. I popped in for a late lunch after visiting Rutland water and I'm glad to say that the quality of the food and service here is excellent. I can't wait to return at a later date to try more of the items on the menu. There is a sizable seating area both upstairs and downstairs and there is even a kids playroom for visiting families. The restaurant is clean, modern and has a lovely atmosphere. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Love this place. Great fun for my boys with their play room, drawing and puzzle stuff and decent kids menu. Grown ups are well catered for too. Had a lovely Calzone tonight. Could do with a wider ale selection but other than that, great!

Wasn't sure if it'd be particularly child-friendly when we went in for lunch, but we were seated immediately and a friendly chap brought us over a kids' menu and crayons straight away.Both staff, a lady and a gent, that served us were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially with our son. The food was very nice, arrived promptly and was very reasonably priced. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again.
