Admiral Fish Bar in South Derbyshire

We have been many times. Disappointed this time. Chips not up to usual standard. I had chicken meat and an upset stomach but one poor experience will not put me off. I'll stick to fish next time.

Wow how rude are the staff that work here. Young blonde girl was so mardy all I asked for was fish cake and chips! Maybe smile and use manners next time!

Great fish and chip shop with good fast service. Normally I would give 5 stars but batter is too thick and makes fish oily. Hope this improves as the batter used to be excellent. Great range one the menu, vegetarian options.

Wow factor service! Quick turnaround and just felt welcome and a part of a nice group of people. Other customers were lovely too. Chips were OK, fish was OK. Big and thick fish (not too thick a batter either) but I wanted it to taste that wee bit fresher. Good prices for amount. Curry sauce was good - gravy was unreal! Amazing and packed with bits of veg like onion and mushrooms. Didn't detract from the flavour though. Spot on. 2 specials and 2 cans of drink for less than £15 and we are so full up. Thanks Admiral, we salute you!

Best fish and chips I’ve had in years. The chips too. Fantastic! And lovely friendly staff always. Will be frequenting this establishment regularly.

Lovely chippy. Fresh fish with the perfect batter and always a friendly welcome. Gravy has mushrooms, yum.

Great chips, lovely service but not fond of the 'fishy' fish so tend to order everything else. Still highly recommended.

Lovely food and top, top service!! It was a Friday night and there was a constantly long queue, right out of the door, but everyone behind the counter was working so hard and we were all served very quickly. I didn't realise that it was cash only and we only had £11, the lovely lady serving me went out of the way to help me order the best combination for my limited funds. We really enjoyed the delicious fish, pie, peas and chips.

Had a nice meal, absolute monster of a fish it was like 20 inch long and very tasty. The chips were mediocre. All In a very nice chippy but definitely not the best.

Very large portion sizes, clean venue with good social distancing measures in place. Free car park at rear. Food was nice, perhaps fish a little bit too greasy but still tasty.
