Blenheim House in South Derbyshire

Warm welcome attentive hosts and lovely staff. Great food the salmon was cooked perfectly and the samphire and potatoes delicious. Cozy bedroom hot shower great value for money thank you xx

Went to the Blenheim for the first time this evening, we had a mixture of steaks chicken and fish. The steaks were cooked to perfection, both Bavette and the ribeye were beautiful. Staff were very helpful, and even managed to put on the cheeseboard, despite there not being one on the menu.I will be visiting again as it is the bast value meal I have had in the area for a long time.

While on a business trip to Derby, I was sent to the Blenheim my by booked hotel due to a delayed flight, and overbooking of the hotel I was supposed to stay at. When I first arrived, it was late at night and I was less than impressed with where I was sent. I was in such a bad mood over the whole thing that I didn't approach the situation with an open mind.Well, that all quickly changed. There is a little pub right at the check-in area and the staff poured me a drink while I was getting checked in. The locals that were in the pub were all extremely nice and welcoming, which made for some great conversation over a couple of drinks. The room itself was nothing fancy but good enough for a night's sleep. The next morning, I got to actually see the charm of this little hotel, something that was missed the night before. The breakfast was great with plenty of coffee to start the day.When I went to check out, the hotel said they would have all my luggage delivered to my originally booked hotel. After a short discussion, I asked if they had my room available for another night and decided to just stay. I am glad I did, turns out dinner at the hotel was amazing too!Next time I am in Derby for work, I will be booking at the Blenheim. All around amazing experience and super nice (and helpful) staff.

I've not been in the country long as I'm travelling from Australia and New Zealand and one of my trips involved a visit to Alton Towers. Of course the british weather decided to wash us out but we had a brilliant looking place to come back to soggy and cold.The Blenheim House was a brilliant stay with such a charming character to it. We learned the building was built in approximately 1798 and the lovely lovely staff member on duty that night was more than helpful to make us feel comfortable.There is a bar and diner for you to relax in and parking to the right of the building. Located in a very quiet village with a few amenities such as takeaways nearby and a local store for typical daily needs.What really made our stay was the kind lady who was serving us some beers and having a good chat with us. We didnt catch her name but she told us she works there a couple days a week as she spends her time down at a nearby pub. You were a star!I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone travelling around this region.Thank you all for a wonderful stay!

Come down and meet Gemma and the team. An exciting new venture for them. There take a way food is to die for. 12" pizzas, two for £20. There delish. There doing so much to get the Joe public back into this lovely pub. It's all dressed in time for Christmas. A new menu with a quality chef to cook all the fresh food. If your looking B&B then the Blenheim house has some lovely rooms at reasonable prices.

Have eaten here twice in the past week. On both occasions the food and the service was very good. The waitresses where also very friendly and efficient. Slightly disappointed with my visit today though. When it came to paying at the bar the lady who served us(I believe it was the landlady) was surprisingly rude and sarcastic and left us feeling rather uncomfortable. Very disappointing as we have spent over £200 here over the Christmas period. I would have expected to not be spoken to in this manner. Apologies to the rest of the staff who where very good, which is why we left a tip for them.

Very welcoming. Very comfortable mattress. Small but well-decorated bathroom, tilting big mirror. Good coffee and breakfast. Good value. Carpet and curtains a bit tired, but great for a night or two

Despite being near empty of diners, the service was exceedingly slow. The food was very disappointing, salad was seemingly just out of a packet, fish was out of a box, chicken seemed likewise. Only two puddings on offer, one a steamed pudding on a red hot day! I asked if they had just ice cream, they answered yes but I had to wait a long time for it and had to ask twice. We will definitely not be back.

Visited recently on a Friday evening with the wife. Good selection of beers with a good menu. The food was nice and good portions. Incredible Scotch egg starter. We were the only people in the place eating therefore it lacked a bit of atmosphere. Would visit again though.

A nice place. Clean and comfortable. The bar area is nice. However, our room was in need of a little maintenance. The shower room extractor fan didn't work. The electric shower could only be turned off by pulling the power cord outside the shower cubicle. There was no toilet roll holder, so the toilet rolls sat on the toilet cistern. I was going to report these things on check out, but the staff were too busy and hassled.The cooked breakfast was ok, but very dry. A shame! I think I had slightly higher expectations.
