Cheese scone terrible here today, flat and heavy. Didn't seem properly cooked. Returned one but the second one was the same. Also jacket potato and beans were just about warm. Will definitely find somewhere else to eat next time we visit there.

We asked for local recommendations for breakfast and The Beetroot Tree definitely didn't disappoint. We had a delicious breakfast (American style pancakes (several toppings available) and my husband had an English breakfast. Food was delicious and service was excellent and friendly. Loads of options for hot drinks including mint hot chocolate, biscoff hot chocolate and black forest hot chocolate. We also spent a fortune in the shop part as there were so many tempting options. We will most definitely be back. Thank you. 😊

Very pleasant cafe with reasonably priced menu. It was great for a late breakfast of eggs on toast with a pot of tea!

Great for a snack or a lovely lunch. The prices are reasonable and the toasted teacakes are the best I have tasted for a long time

Friendly staff. Really good lunch. Lovely choice of salads, good quiche & generous portions.

I often visit the Beetroot tree as it is local to where I work and generally the service and standard of food has been faultless, but recently the prices have gone up and the food quality dropped off inline with reopening to full service which is a shame. It was never a cheap lunchtime option but the balance on quality was there. Yesterday I visited and paid £4 for some very dry bacon on the cheapest of cheap white rolls complimented with budget sachet sauces. Was it edible, for sure was it enjoyable, no. I can only conclude the bacon had been left under heat lamps which aligns with how quick it was out of the door. The willow tree nearby is a good option, owned by the same people but seemingly better food, there is now also an alternate option, the cafe boat around the corner is more reasonable establishment and the food aligns with the price.

My Mum was sold a couple of Scones out of a clear container the other day, she asked what scones they were and was told they were Cherry. Got home to find it had loads of almonds in. Absolutely terrible, allergens like this should be clearly labelled by law. Unbelievable this could happen, should be ashamed. You claim that you cannot guarantee any of your foods are nut free but I think labelling the food with allergens that they clearly contain would be a start! It’s not enough for the safety net being that the staff should inform customers, and on this case they ā€˜forgot’, that’s absurd and could’ve resulted in at least one fatality. I really can’t believe these weren’t labelled, it’s a disgrace and massively irresponsible and needs looking into.
