Enjoyed a delicious evening meal here with fast service. The food was excellent and would recommend coming. Great for families, couples, and the elderly.

Saturday Morning Breakfast!The food was unlimited and cooked to order and tasted lovely. We really enjoyed taking our coffees outside after we'd eaten and enjoyed the lovely garden to the rear! 🙂I just want to say that the staff were lovely and friendly, especially the General Manager Emma. She couldn't do enough for you, so polite and professional! 😊The Stanhope also offer a generous loyalty scheme as well! 👍Thank you and see you again soon!

Lovely welcome for my 18th sat down and ordered my first legal alcoholic drink and was told it was on the house along with my dessert followed with a birthday card ! Great food lovely staff nice fairly quiet night . Lovely stay next door too ! Came to a fair £25 but paid the £30 for the tip as the staff looked exhausted but still maintained their smile .Thanks for a lovely birthday guys ! :))

I haven't been here for many years but last time I went it was fantastic. Staff were friendly and the food was great.

No bad but not great, steak & chips were ok, the pint of Carling was spot on...not many people in on a Wednesday at 3pm, service was a bit slow, looked like there was only 2 people working...overall an Okay visit.

Our friend booked our room as part of a wedding celebration. We arrived lunch time and was allowed to check in early, great as we changed for the wedding. Comfortable clean room, everything we needed. Loved the large bath. Had a splendid breakfast, hot, we eat every bit. To add the staff were so friendly and of good cheer. So thankyou. We stayed just one night, would have stayed longer and would recommend.

Regularly visit for a quiet drink. Not the busiest of places, so perfect if you want to hear your conversation easily! Menu is good but sometimes a little more expensive than other similar places. Food quality is pretty good. Bar staff are friendly, layout is spacious and wheelchair-friendly for the majority of the pub. Plenty of car parking spaces available, but if you park in the large car park (opposite the pub) you need to register your car reg - bar staff can help with this.

Good meal only got 1 meal wrong out of 7 of us. It wasn't to busy either. Loved the little private booth. Great service

brilliant staff , nice food , would recommend we had breakfast with them before heading out it took a little while for the breakfast as it’s cooked to order so make time for this is you need to be somewhere but other than that it was a really friendly place with beautiful views across the valley

Best part of the roast dinner was the Yorkshire pudding and I’m guessing that was frozen, the beef was tough as leather and wasn’t even sliced properly probably cause it was to tough to slice, there’s a lot of places around Swad do excellent roast for same or similar prices and the food is much better, I can see now why the Stanhope was empty when we got there and when we left. Really disappointed and definitely won’t go back there again.
