Planters At Bretby Garden Centre in South Derbyshire

My friend and I went for a bite to eat and a coffee. We waited nearly an hour to be served and managed to find two seats. The tables were still piled up with the remains of the previous customers. It reminded me of an old school dinner hall. The staff were rushing around and trying there best. Not enough staff. When the food finally came it was a raw potato with wilted salad. I just left it and I won't be returning. Very, very disappointed. I didn't complain as by then I'd had enough.

Cakes were dry on afternoon tea. Servers were very attentive though and respected my request to keep the table next to us empty for a short while as we are extremely vulnerable, but we're out for some much needed family time. Graceful for that. Thanks.

My husband has mobility issues and this place is all on one level. Lots of choice of plants and not too expensive. Lovely lunch as well, whats not to like!

I've lived in Burton for over 30 years. I went here for the first time last week. I loved it. Lovely food in the restaurant which uses a local butcher. They have rabbits, rats, gerbils, budgies and other animals for sale. Plus an aquatic section. Also a gift shop! I love gift shops

Lovely Garden centre always great for shopping.We visited for breakfast for the first time and it was disappointing. The bacon was very fatty and the sausages were served pink inside and not very hot. I did complain as I wasn't really happy and unsure about eating them. The lady said its not a problem ill get you some more, Great thanks. But she returned to say the kitchen said they were fine and they have been probed no offer of the cooked through sausages. This was really disappointing we left our sausages and most of the bacon as it was just fat.Shame really.

We went to the Ice Rink just after Christmas. The rink isn't the largest but is suitable for a good time with the family or friends. Planters is a lovely place too with plenty to offer.

Super service as always, it's now an annual tradition to come and buy our tree from here. Excellent value for money and really friendly staff. Great food in the restaurant too.

Great Christmas selection, plants and pets. We loved the ice rink and also the cafe. Thank you to the very friendly and helpful lady behind the till in the cafe who kindly cut my large cookie in two, ensuring the same number of smarties on each piece!

First time at Planters and very impressed, great display of Christmas trees and everything to do with the festive season. People skating on ice rink and the restaurant full, so we joined them and had a lovely prepared meal. Would recommend this garden centre to my friends.

Lots of free parking, great selection of healthy plants, pots and paving. Garden furniture and fire pits etc There were a few rabbits ànd guinea pigs for the little ones to look at and even a lovely sandpit for the toddlers by the cafe. Gift shop and clean toilets. Only meant to be half an hour and was an hour and a half 😁
