Stanhope Arms in South Derbyshire

Certainly won't be returning here again, used to love coming but after todays meal never again. Started off with dirty wine glasses, even after asking for another. The beef was swimming in blood, I understand some people like it raw but not that undercooked it eas stlll mooing! Vegetables covered in blood. Was offered to be recooked but that would result in more waiting which we didn't have the time to do. Also asked for cider and was given none alcoholic. No money taken off the bill, no apology.

brilliant staff , nice food , would recommend we had breakfast with them before heading out it took a little while for the breakfast as it’s cooked to order so make time for this is you need to be somewhere but other than that it was a really friendly place with beautiful views across the valley

Had Sunday roast here today as a family. Everything was absolutely spot on. The Rioja is also one of my favs (Campo Viejo) but also, the team were great even though it was very busy with large tables. Thanks Cori and team, really was a nice enjoyable meal time there today and well done. Thank you

Best part of the roast dinner was the Yorkshire pudding and I’m guessing that was frozen, the beef was tough as leather and wasn’t even sliced properly probably cause it was to tough to slice, there’s a lot of places around Swad do excellent roast for same or similar prices and the food is much better, I can see now why the Stanhope was empty when we got there and when we left. Really disappointed and definitely won’t go back there again.

Charged twice for the same meal Barred for complaining Incompetent staff apart from the manager who tried his best to save the situation. Finally got a refund after a battle. Customer service zero.

Good pub food and excellent service. Tables disinfected between customers and attentive staff. Really enjoyable experience and highly recommended.

Cold food. Slow service. Small portion sizes. Sloppy presentation. Finished off with bad guts! Only reason I'm not giving a one is the staff were very friendly.

Wanted a really special Christmas dinner this year, was horrified. The food I was given was frozen! Frozen mash! Packet chicken when I paid £80 for it! I was disgusted by the fact that they gave us frozen, not proper cooked food on Christmas.Waitresses were lovely, friendly and did a great job considering everything that happened. The stars are for them, but the food was awful

Had a good meal with family although some items on the menu weren't available, the service was a bit slow for saying it wasn't that busy
