The Boardwalk Bar & Dining in South Derbyshire

Celebrated my 18th here. The location is great and so is the food. Staff wren friendly and welcoming. We were given a spacious, corner spot so that we could celebrate and take pictures without disturbing others (which was a great gesture). Despite being super busy the service was prompt.Definitely recommend it for parties, get togethers and scenic dinners!!

Gorgeous lunch as usual. Food is always excellent and service first class from the friendly team. The bar/restaurant was very busy, which is always good to see. We highly recommend for a relaxing meal with great views over Mercia Marina.Today for lunch two of our group had the sausage and onion sandwiches and I had the chicken burger with garlic and chilli prawn skewer, served with skinny fries, delicious.

Visited the Boardwalk today and was told by a member of staff that our hearts would be broken as she had no seats. When asked if there would be any later, we were told that only when someone left and she didn't know if anyone would be leaving. If this is a welcoming environment then I fear I am used to better service. Not even a,suggestion of drinks at the bar until a table became free. We were visiting our daughter for the day, went to the Bulls Head instead what a difference beautiful food, lovely environment and amazing staff so thanks for turning us away Boardwalk.

Dog friendly so that alone is fantastic. Great service and very friendly staff. Food we ordered was delicious.

We booked for a valentines / birthday dinner and were not disappointed ! The restaurant is stunning and right on the canal. The staff were super friendly especially Sarah who made sure to look after our every need which is much appreciated as I have a gluten intolerance and she made me feel completely at ease with the food. We will definitely come back again !

It was a cold & wintery morning... Freezing in fact but the staff offered a warm & friendly welcome and followed by a good range of hot food to set you up for the day. Front of house staff were attentive without being intrusive. Depending on your taste some of the food was a bit too well done for my liking, maybe they were a bit rushed at the time but I would come back to sample more of their interesting menu.

I came here for food and was left disappointed. The smoked salmon was bad, very bad. Brown bits all over it and just didn’t taste right. Had 2 bites and left it.I’d have given 1 star but it is a nice looking place. Maybe I got an old packet that had been left open a few days? Who knows but to be honest even the spinach tasted terrible. Sorry for review but I can only base it off my personal experience.

Visited with a few friends, atmosphere was great and the staff were lovely. When the food arrived we were really disappointed. The nachos weren't nacho chips, they were cut up tortilla wraps that weren't toasted enough so had gone quite soggy and limp, served with tiny portions of salsa, sour cream and guac. The chicken wings were £6 for only 3 wings. The chips were actually great but unfortunately couldn't make up for the rest of the food! Some of the food served around us looked better so I'd say be careful to order the right dish if you do go!

Great food in a relaxing atmosphere. The staff and service are brilliant and they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Been here many times over the last few years and really enjoy walking round the marina where this restaurant is located as well. Nice to have places like this within a short drive.

Lovely lovely lovely food, so nice to have brilliant food outside of the city centre. Sat by the marina watching the snow! , lovely setting and staff. Great food! I can't wait to go back !
