"It's great to be back! Thank you for your ongoing support over the last year. A few things to consider before you visit: Booking is not essential, though we would recommend you book in advance. Outdoor service is limited to guests in groups of six or two households (no limit on number) is permitted. Please note we may need to vary our opening hours and food service times given the time of year and the unpredictable nature of our Great British weather! Track and trace requirements have changed meaning all guests over 16 years of age must check in and provide their contact details. Unfortunately we must refuse service if guests do not comply. This place is the best carvery. Homemade yourshire puds , and the place is like a curiosity shop , it's beautifully decorated and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. The owners are lovley people and so friendly and make us feel so welcome.

Today 25th December 2021 my wife and l went out for Christmas Day dinner at The Gate Hotel. This is not something we've done before so I was a little nervous how things would go but I needn't have worried.The food was fantastic, I didn't realise you could have so many different types of stuffing or sausages! The decorations throughout second to none and nothing was to much trouble for any member of staff.Many thanks to all the people who helped us have a lovely time today and we are back again tomorrow.

Mixed grill was really good, steak was a little overcooked for me. Lovely little pub, would definitely go back

Stacker burger wasn't. 2 burger patties microwaved?? 1 piece bacon 1 slice cheese. Burger bun straight out the bag. Salad on the side. Onion rings warm and soggy. Microwave again I assume. Chips where kind of crispy.
