The Marina Bar and Restaurant in South Derbyshire

Celebrated my 18th here. The location is great and so is the food. Staff wren friendly and welcoming. We were given a spacious, corner spot so that we could celebrate and take pictures without disturbing others (which was a great gesture). Despite being super busy the service was prompt.Definitely recommend it for parties, get togethers and scenic dinners!!

Booked here as I've been before! Wish I hadn't bothered. My sister's and I were having a rare evening out. I suggested the Boardwalk. We started with a Cosmo as we all like them, and easy to make - you'd think!!! Firstly they were going to use Smirnoff!!! I said Greygoose please, the manager immediately sniped with " you'll have to pay extra for that"!! Very rude!! As soon as they arrived we knew they would be awful! My sister, very politely explained we couldn't drink them as they were far too sweet. When asked what they use, we knew why!! He was asked to leave the syrup out, but when they came they looked and tasted exactly the same!!!We decided to leave them and head to dinner. Again my sister explained they were awful. Dave, in a nasty way said " no more cocktails"!! She asked him to be nice and asked for replacement drinks. The meal was average, Amber the waitress was lovely. The other lady serving was rude!! We noticed her pointing to us on a couple of occasions. The so called replacement drinks were on the bill as 4! There's only 3 of us! She was not happy when this was pointed out!! Did not reply when we said goodnight!! Customer service is appalling! I will not be returning which is a real shame!! Would I recommend it? Absolutely not!!!

Gorgeous lunch as usual. Food is always excellent and service first class from the friendly team. The bar/restaurant was very busy, which is always good to see. We highly recommend for a relaxing meal with great views over Mercia Marina.Today for lunch two of our group had the sausage and onion sandwiches and I had the chicken burger with garlic and chilli prawn skewer, served with skinny fries, delicious.

Dog friendly so that alone is fantastic. Great service and very friendly staff. Food we ordered was delicious.

We booked for a valentines / birthday dinner and were not disappointed ! The restaurant is stunning and right on the canal. The staff were super friendly especially Sarah who made sure to look after our every need which is much appreciated as I have a gluten intolerance and she made me feel completely at ease with the food. We will definitely come back again !

It was a cold & wintery morning... Freezing in fact but the staff offered a warm & friendly welcome and followed by a good range of hot food to set you up for the day. Front of house staff were attentive without being intrusive. Depending on your taste some of the food was a bit too well done for my liking, maybe they were a bit rushed at the time but I would come back to sample more of their interesting menu.

I came here for food and was left disappointed. The smoked salmon was bad, very bad. Brown bits all over it and just didn’t taste right. Had 2 bites and left it.I’d have given 1 star but it is a nice looking place. Maybe I got an old packet that had been left open a few days? Who knows but to be honest even the spinach tasted terrible. Sorry for review but I can only base it off my personal experience.

Great food in a relaxing atmosphere. The staff and service are brilliant and they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Been here many times over the last few years and really enjoy walking round the marina where this restaurant is located as well. Nice to have places like this within a short drive.

Lovely lovely lovely food, so nice to have brilliant food outside of the city centre. Sat by the marina watching the snow! , lovely setting and staff. Great food! I can't wait to go back !
