The Ragley Boat Stop in South Derbyshire

Absolutely love this place been going for over 20 yrs now. The meals are definitely worth the money. The staff are friendly. Never had any issues at all. They have upstairs are and balcony. Which you can either just drink or eat. Then they have plenty of room downstairs and outside in the garden with a view to the canal. I have always recommended this place and always will. I love the 32oz mixed grill with all the trimmings. It only cost around £16 well worth the money compared to some places I have been in the past. Xx

Food quality was relatively poor from a recent experience. Our table had a steak sauce that tasted awful and hand to send plate back. Mixed grill was barely average, steak was pretty gristly. Depending on what time you visit there's often families with noisy children around. Also recently the place appears to be understaffed, something we were advised about on sitting. Nobody at the door / around to greet you. Giving 3 stars since most the food is okay at least, and the staff managed to deal with our issues alright. Overall I'd avoid this place for anything special until it improves it's standards. If ye just / mainly drinking it's fine.

Really enjoyed this visit, its been a while, my food was very nice & cooked to my liking. I opted for the Murphy t-bone steak medium-well & it was delicious, don't quite know just how i managed a desert but it did & took pics just to tease my siblings haha. Oh & my wife enjoyed her meal also.

Nice pub at side of canal. Great food and great prices. The staff are friendly too. I had Henry 8th steak 24oz and it was well worth it.

Fantastic value, steaks were beautiful and cut like butter. Service was quick and polite. Great for families.It can be very busy and you have to look for your own table, they do not take bookings for small numbers.

A little disappointed..although the steak I managed off the bone was nice, cooked exactly how I wanted ect their wasn't a massive amount because it had lots of sinu and gristle. For just south of £30.00 it wasn't worth the wait.

Lovely pub in the middle of nowhere, there was a group of over 25 of us and we went for a meal. I had an issue with the size of my order as I had order a large but recieved a standard, I know as other people had order the same, when I mentioned it to staff one told me it was large because I had more chips and included garlic bread (I had the same as others there) another staff member at the bar told me the smaller dish is the same weight as the large when they clearly wasn't. I didn't make a fuss as it was a special occasion for someone. Other than that the food was really nice, I would go again and if I do I will update accordingly

Love this place. It's always so busy but we've never had a bad meal yet. They seem to have enough staff on so no one seems stressed. Great value and very pretty outside in summer xx

The steaks here were INCREDIBLE!!! such good value for money. We will definitely be going back. My father in law had the Murphy (32oz tbone) and said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had. The only downside was that the toilet was disgusting. I had my baby and had to use the disabled / baby changing room to sort her nappy and it was a state! It wasn't even busy either and we went at 6:30 on a Monday night, so it was very quiet. Clearly the staff don't do regular checks on the toilet facilities.

Lovely meal ..Good food portions..staff friendly and helpful..bit tired looking hence only 4 stars..but food surpassed first impression of decor
